If the Ford Endeavor and Mitsubishi Pajero follow the CBU route, their pricing might surpass the Toyota Fortuner's flagship model because of exorbitant import duties, as a result, they may not do well.

Now Toyota has officially confirmed the launch of a car on 3rd April 2024. This car was expected since August 2023 that’s when Toyota registered this Urban Cruiser Taisor trademark in India. 

Toyota’s ideology behind the innovation of this whole ‘carbon capture’ system is to meet the ‘Carbon Neutral by 2050’ goal. This innovation is led under the Toyota-Kawasaki collaboration.

As for sales, 2000 units of the Toyota Fortuner were sold within a month. It outperformed all the rivals’ sales figures combined. However, according to the latest reports (2024), Toyota sells an average of 3,000 units of the Fortuner per month

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor is a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Both the subcompact crossover SUVs have nearly identical features.

The Toyota Innova HyCross now has added another non-hybrid variant, the GX(O). It is available in seven-and eight-seater configurations, priced at Rs 21.13 lakh and Rs 20.99 lakh, respectively. Both are ex-showroom figures.

Fuel efficiency has not been the strong suit of this SUV since its inception but things have changed with the introduction of this mild hybrid system.

The Toyota Fortuner now has another version, the Leader Edition. This iteration has received exclusive cosmetic changes and a few features.

Both vehicles will most likely use LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) batteries, developed by Chinese EV giant BYD. Technical specifications remain to be declared.
