As we step into 2025 and set never-going-to-happen resolutions, smartphone brands are also starting the year with exciting launches. Several brands like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo and Realme have announced their first launches for 2025, while Samsung and Poco have teased their upcoming models.
Samsung and OnePlus will introduce their flagship smartphone series under the Galaxy S25 and OnePlus 13 lineups respectively. Meanwhile, Realme, Oppo and Xiaomi aim to dominate the mid-range segment with feature-packed models.
If you’re planning to buy a smartphone in January, we suggest waiting for these upcoming launches.
Some of them are truly worth the wait!
Samsung Galaxy S25 series
Launch Date: January 22 (Leaked)
Expected Price Range: Around INR 79,999
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra earned the title of the best smartphone of the year in multiple awards, and its successor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, is just around the corner. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will be the star of the Galaxy S25 series among the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and the rumoured Galaxy S25 Slim.
Samsung has not officially announced the Galaxy S25 Slim but various websites have confirmed its existence. This and the upcoming iPhone 17 Air would have less than 7mm thickness. More details of the Galaxy S25 Slim should be revealed soon.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series will reportedly feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, OneUI 7-based Android 15 operating system, Galaxy AI and much more.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra, on the other hand, would be the top-of-the-line flagship smartphone from Samsung in 2025, about which you can read more by clicking here. A leaked image suggests the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will debut on January 22.
OnePlus 13 series
Launch Date: January 7
Expected Price Range: Around INR 39,999
The OnePlus 13 lineup will directly compete with Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series. The lineup includes the OnePlus 13 and 13R.
The OnePlus 13 will be the flagship smartphone from the house of OnePlus and will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The OnePlus 13R, on the other hand, will launch as an affordable flagship smartphone that will be powered by last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The OnePlus 13 will feature a 50-megapixel Hasselblad-tuned main camera accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens. For those concerned about the green line issue, here’s some good news for you. OnePlus has extended its new lifetime warranty program to all OnePlus devices against green-line display issues. It will feature a 120Hz LTPO OLED panel with 2K resolution and a variable refresh rate.

Realme 14 Pro series
Launch Date: January (Date TBA)
Expected Price Range: Around INR 27,999
The Realme 14 Pro series is confirmed to launch in India this January, comprising the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus.
The key highlight? A colour-changing back panel that shifts from Pearl White to Ocean Blue when exposed to temperatures below 16 degrees Celsius. The Realme 14 Pro Plus offers a periscope lens and a quad-curved OLED display to distinguish itself from the standard 14 Pro.
The Realme 14 Pro series will flaunt a 6.67-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate support. These devices will be powered by a mid-range Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset which its competitor, Redmi Note 14 Pro also uses. The devices will run Realme UI 6 skin based on Android 15 and are expected to bring AI features.
The Realme 14 Pro Plus will feature a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main, 8-megapixel ultra-wide and a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 periscope lens with 3x optical zoom.
The launch date is yet to be confirmed.

Poco X7 series
Launch Date: TBA
Expected Price Range: Around INR 17,999
Poco hasn’t officially announced the X7 series but certifications and leaks hint at its imminent arrival in India.
The Poco X7 and X7 Pro will reportedly be rebranded versions of the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Redmi Turbo 4, respectively.
The Poco X7 is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset which scored over 7,04,404 on AnTuTu. It could pack up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.
It will have an iPhone 16-like design and will be available in three colours in India – Black, Green and Silver. The black colour will feature a dual-tone design blended with yellow colour.
Both phones will flaunt a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification. The Poco X7 Pro will be the first smartphone in India to run Android 15-based Xiaomi HyperOS 2 out of the box.

Oppo Reno 13 series
Launch Date: January
Expected Price Range: Around INR 32,999
The Oppo Reno 13 series is confirmed to launch soon in India as the product mico-site has already gone live on the brand's official website and on Flipkart. The lineup will consist of two smartphones, Reno 13 and Reno 13 Pro. The Reno 13 will be available in two colours, Luminous Blue and Ivory White whereas the Reno 13 Pro will also be available in two colours: Mist Lavender and Graphite Grey.
Oppo is advertising these phones as AI phones. Hence, we could expect several Oppo AI features coming to these phones just like the Reno 12 series. These include AI Eraser 2.0, AI Studio, AI Best Face, AI Recording Summary, AI Toolbox, AI LinkBoost and more.
The specifications of the Indian variant are yet to be announced but it should be largely similar to that of the Chinese versions. If true, then these phones will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset and run Android 15-based ColorOS 15 skin.
Oppo is yet to confirm the launch date of its Reno 13 series in India.
