The Bharat Mobility Global 2025 event proved to be a spectacular showcase of innovation and progress in the Indian automotive industry. Such was the excitement around the 2025 edition of the Auto Expo that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari attended the show on the very first day!
Bringing together a diverse array of vehicles, from futuristic electric cars to high-performance superbikes, the exhibition highlighted the dynamic evolution of mobility in India. Enthusiasts and industry professionals alike were treated to a thrilling display of the latest offerings from leading manufacturers, with some brands making a remarkable impact while others were notably absent.
One of the standout performers at the event was Hero MotoCorp, which captivated audiences with its impressive lineup, demonstrating its commitment to both budget-conscious consumers and performance enthusiasts. Their display successfully stole the spotlight, underlining the brand's strong presence and influence in the Indian two-wheeler market. In contrast, the absence of prominent international players such as KTM and Kawasaki left many attendees disappointed, as their high-performance motorcycles have a dedicated fan following in the country.
Among the four-wheeler segment, the resurrection of the iconic Tata Sierra drew considerable attention, marking a nostalgic yet futuristic return of the beloved SUV. With modern design cues and advanced technology, Tata Motors effectively revived the legacy of the Sierra, striking a chord with both longtime fans and new-age buyers. Maruti Suzuki, India’s automotive giant, also made waves by unveiling the much-anticipated E-Vitara, a fully electric SUV that aligns with the country’s growing focus on sustainable mobility.
The event served as a powerful platform to witness the shifting landscape of Indian mobility, with an increased emphasis on electric vehicles, sustainability, and innovation. As the industry continues to evolve, Bharat Mobility Global 2025 offers an exciting glimpse into the future, reflecting India’s aspirations to become a global leader in the automotive sector.
My Top Picks from the Show
Hero Xtreme 250R and Karizma XMR 250

At the entire show, the Hero Corner was my favourite because of two new motorcycles: the fully-faired Karizma XMR 250 and the Hero Xtreme 250R. Both motorcycles are poised to capture the market, as Hero has equipped them with a powerful 250cc engine. These motorcycles can produce a peak power of 30 bhp and a peak torque of 25 Nm. The competition in the under INR 2 lakh segment is set to become even more exciting, thanks to the impressive power-to-performance ratio. The sharp looks of the motorcycles are the cherry on the cake.
One year ago, Hero made history by launching the Hero Xtreme 125R and it seems the brand is on the verge of repeating that success with these two aggressive motorcycles in the 250cc segment.
The ex-showroom price of the Hero Xtreme 250R is INR 1.8 lakhs while the expected ex-showroom price of the Karizma XMR 250 is around INR 2 lakhs.
MG Cyberster
When MG entered the Indian automobile market, it faced some backlash due to the quality issues of the MG Gloster. However, the brand gradually established its reputation and I believe the launch of the MG Cyberster will be a significant milestone for MG.
This car carries the title of the most affordable sports car in India. Until 2020, this title belonged to the DC Avanti but no one talks about the Avanti anymore. The scenario will likely be the opposite for the MG Cyberster, which will compete with the BMW Z4.
Not only is it affordable but the MG Cyberster is also an EV with a claimed range of 507 km, making its per-kilometer running cost economical. The car will be available in two variants. The first, equipped with a single motor, produces 335 bhp and has a maximum range of 507 km. The second variant, featuring dual motors, generates a peak power of 496 bhp and offers a range of up to 443 km on a single charge.
Tata Sierra

The Tata Sierra has redefined the concept of a 'comeback and rebirth'. The legendary SUV was first launched in 1991 as the country's first off-road SUV. Tata has now unveiled the new Sierra at Bharat Mobility 2025, where it garnered significant attention for its striking looks and dual-tone finish. The brand has introduced the vehicle in both ICE and EV versions, with an expected price of approximately INR 15 lakhs.
Although Maruti launched the e Vitara and Hyundai introduced the Creta EV, Tata stole the show with the yellow-coloured Sierra. The brand is expected to launch the production version of the Tata Sierra by the end of 2025.

Yamaha FZ Hybrid
While other brands are focusing on launching entirely new products, Yamaha is enhancing its offerings for its target audience. Yamaha has introduced the FZ Hybrid to appeal to riders seeking a muscular motorcycle with high fuel efficiency and moderate performance.
Versions 3 and 4 of the Yamaha FZ have been among the brand’s best-selling motorcycles. Building on this success, the new hybrid version not only offers improved fuel efficiency but also incorporates several design updates. The side indicators are now mounted on the fuel tank to prevent damage in bumper-to-bumper traffic, and the bike is equipped with an LCD instrument cluster for a modern look.
According to a Yamaha representative, this hybrid version will be only INR 2,000 more expensive than the current FZ model.
Shunya by Sarla Aviation
It seems Sarla Aviation is determined to break away from the traditional and uninspiring aesthetics of helicopters. The company has developed Shunya, India’s first futuristic electric flying taxi. This electric helicopter is capable of carrying six people and its cabin can be transformed into a conference room simply by rotating the rear seats.
The e-taxi has a payload capacity of up to 680 kg, a maximum range of approximately 160 km and a top speed of up to 250 km/h.
Suzuki GSX-8R
/hardwire/media/media_files/2025/01/17/suzuki-gsx8r.jpeg)
I came across this beautifully crafted machine at Suzuki’s booth and it captured my attention even quicker than the iconic white Hayabusa. The motorcycle was displayed alongside the Gixxer SF 250 in a striking blue colour.
The GSX-8R is powered by a 776cc BS6 engine that delivers a maximum output of 81 bhp and 78 Nm of peak torque. While there are other motorcycles in the INR 10 lakh segment that can rival its performance, the GSX-8R stands out for its stunning design.
Despite being track-oriented, the motorcycle feels compact and manageable. Riders as short as 5 feet 7 inches can handle it comfortably. The seating posture is remarkably comfortable and much better than other track-focused motorcycles in this price range. The expected ex-showroom price is around INR 10 lakhs.
DC Goldmedal
The creators of the Tarzan Wonder Car and the DC Avanti have now designed a futuristic, spaceship-like bus. Named the DC Goldmedal, it functions as a mobile showroom. Instead of renting a building, brands can use this vehicle to showcase their products.
The bus features a lounge for customers, a small office for paperwork and a dedicated luxury corner for displaying products. While the concept is undoubtedly eye-catching and could be valuable in areas with wide roads, its enormous size makes it impractical for Tier-3 cities.
With an expected price of around INR 16 crores, the DC Goldmedal might be a dealbreaker for many brands. However, in terms of design and innovation, it’s certainly a showstopper.
TVS RR 310 MotoGP Edition
TVS has recently launched a new edition of the Apache RR 310, and as in previous years, the company has showcased the MotoGP Edition of the RR 310. TVS has gone all out, using carbon fibre materials extensively to reduce the motorcycle’s weight. The brand has also re-engineered the design by relocating the headlight from the air intake module and equipping the bike with dual exhausts for improved airflow.
This track beast features three performance modes, allowing riders to optimise performance based on the track’s requirements. However, this motorcycle is not available at regular TVS showrooms.

Other attention-grabbing vehicles
The showcase also featured several standout vehicles, including the Mercedes Concept CLA Class, BMW S 1000 RR, Mercedes G Wagon electric, Porsche 911 GT3 R, and a Special Edition Hayabusa. Additionally, Mahindra showcased the newly launched BE 6 and XEV 9E electric SUVs.
For motorcycle enthusiasts, Hero impressed everyone by introducing beefier versions of the Hero Karizma XMR 250, X-Pulse 210, and Xtreme 250R. Suzuki also showcased the Gixxer SF 250, now compatible with E85 fuel.
