Amidst a rising car culture in India, the SIAM Auto Expo – now part of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo show – is turning global heads. India is an uprising economy and carmakers ensure that they capitalise on it as much as possible. Hence, the Auto Expo 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 had a lot to showcase!

From swanky concept cars to rugged all-terrain SUVs, eco-friendly trucks and buses and even a full-size homegrown air taxi concept, the Auto Expo 2025 had everything. I was part of the Hardwire team’s entourage and while my colleagues were busy presenting some of these gems for the YouTube and social media audience, I was busy exploring thes exciting exhibits up closer and, most importantly, with more time.

While the glitz of the Mercedes Benz and Porsche stalls had me spellbound for the first few hours, the real gems of the Auto Expo weaved their magic upon hundreds of enthusiasts, like me, and media personnel. The two days spent at the Auto Expo 2025 left me awestruck about the future of personal mobility in India over the coming year.

Hence, buckle up as I take you through my list of the best automobile exhibits showcased at the Auto Expo 2025. Don’t be mad if you don’t find your hot pick here – there are more lists to explore.

My top picks from Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Expected launch: Mid-2025

Better late than be sorry! Maruti Suzuki took its sweet time but its first EV seems polished and promising! The e Vitara showcases how car designers can cleverly merge conventional and futuristic design trends for electric cars (learn this Hyundai). While the bulbous SUV-inspired body is appealing, Suzuki has done a great job with the interiors (an all-new dashboard and switchgear!). Maruti Suzuki has tried to localise the production to a greater extent and hence, could make this one of the most popular compact electric SUVs in India.

MG Cyberster

Expected launch: 2025

bharat auto expo 2025

MG is back! At least in its original form! After giving us a bunch of bulky SUVs and the Comet, MG JSW showcased the Cyberster sports car, promising to launch it later in the year. Beyond the fancy scissor doors, the trendy arrow-shaped taillamps and the C7 Corvette-inspired cabin, the Cyberster is a potent sports car that could utilise its electric powertrain to put up a strong fight against the likes of Porsche 718 Boxster and BMW Z4.

Tata Harrier EV

Expected launch: 2025

Bharat Mobility auto Expo 2025

While India went gaga over the production-ready Tata Sierra, I was fascinated by the comparatively subtle Harrier EV. Although the SUV looks no different from its diesel-powered counterpart, the electric powertrain finally gives the Harrier a four-wheel drive system, thus making it a proper off-road-friendly vehicle. Since it drove itself on the stage, we believe it features a Tesla-inspired Summon feature. We await the performance details but the Harrier EV could be a worthy alternative to the Mahindra BE 6.

Lexus LF-ZC concept

Expected launch: Uncertain

The Lexus LF-ZC might never take shape in the way Lexus showcased it at the Auto Expo 2025 but I am still rooting for it. A swanky four-door sportscar with beautiful lighting and a futuristic powertrain is what we need in an age of boxy SUVs!

Hero Xtreme 250R

Expected launch: 2025

publive-image

Hard to believe that this motorcycle is made by the same company that makes the Splendor!

Hero had a lot to show at the Auto Expo 2025 but it was the Xtreme 250R that hogged all the attention. Presented as a stripped-down streetfighter variant of the Karizma XMR 250, the Xtreme 250R looks ravishing and its new power source can make potential KTM 250 Duke customers reconsider their choice. With over 30 hp of peak power to play with, this motorcycle could put Hero on top of the chart in the premium motorcycle segment. I can’t wait to try it out once it arrives at the nearest dealerships.

Vayve Mobility EVA

Expected launch: 2026

If you assumed that the MG Comet was the smallest a car could be, you are in for a surprise. Vayve Mobility unveiled the EVA three-seater electric car and if it makes it to the showroom floors in 2026, it could be a solution to our escalating traffic snarls. The EVA can sit up to three people in its tech-laden cabin and is narrow enough to make it through cramped streets and parking spaces. It can go up to 250 km on a full charge too! The base model is said to start from INR 3.9 lakhs, which makes it the cheapest EV one can buy!

Skoda Vision 7S

Expected launch: NA

The Vision 7S from Skoda looks like any other big SUV from Volkswagen but it is the cabin where the car spins its magic! Floating-style seats, a dedicated child-safety seat, pretty dashboard trims, a unique floor pattern and, wait for it…LCD screens on the doors to uplift the mood! Who needs ambient lighting now?

BYD Sealion 7

Expected launch: March 2025

Bharat Mobility auto Expo 2025

The Seal set the compact luxury sedan market on fire last year and now, its crossover variant is expected to do the same for the compact luxury SUVs. The Sealion 7 flaunts notable references to the Seal sedan, especially with its sleek double-barrel headlamps, the droplet style taillamps, swanky interiors with a rotatable infotainment display and the general platform. However, the SUV body gives the Sealion 7 a lot more space and a humongous boot, thus making it the perfect car for an SUV-worshipping nation!

The entire Vinfast portfolio

Expected launch: 2025

Bharat Mobility auto Expo 2025

Vinfast made its Indian debut at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025 and what a spectacular collection of electric cars the company put on display! Expected to go up against BYD, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Kia and Skoda in the premium electric car segment, Vinfast is all ready. Midsize crossovers like the VF7 and VF8 drew a lot of crowds whereas the VF9 7-seater SUV raised curiosity amongst family SUV buyers. The VF 3 micro SUV and VF Wild pickup trucks caught people’s fancy but there’s a big question over their Indian arrival.

A drifting BMW M2

publive-image

This one is my personal favourite. The BMW M2 needs no introduction to petrolheads in India. It’s rear-wheel drive, has a throaty inline-six engine and a driver-centric approach to a 2-door sports coupe. Hence, it was incredibly exciting to see trained professionals pulling off donuts in the open area. It sure did chew through Verdestein tyres but what a spectacle it was! Ah!
