After the magnificent success of the Xtreme 125R, the new Hero Xtreme 250R has been making headlines.
Hero showcased the Xtreme 250R at EICMA 2024 along with other motorcycles like the Xpulse 210 and Karizma XMR 250. This Xtreme 250R uses a brand new 250cc engine which will be shared with the XMR 250. This motorcycle is based on the Xtunt 2.5R concept from Hero’s concept showcased at the EICMA last year.
The Xtreme 250R will become the fourth bike of the Xtreme series after the 125R, 160R and 200S 4V. Upon its arrival, the Xtreme 250R will go up against the prominent players of the 250cc segment like the KTM 250 Duke, Bajaj Pulsar N250 etc.
Hero has priced its other motorcycles quite aggressively compared to their competitors, so we expect them to follow a similar strategy with the Xtreme 250R.
Hero Xtreme 250R: Design and features
The motorcycle features an aggressive street fighter design similar to the Xtreme 125R and 160R. But it has sharper elements which give it the most dominant road presence amongst its peers. It gets a unique white, black and red paint job which, coupled with black alloy wheels, looks smashing.
The motorcycle also features fully digital instrumentation, switchable ABS and a fully LED lighting setup to make it more compelling.
Hero Xtreme 250R: Performance
The most important aspect of this motorcycle is its engine and the Xtreme 250R gets a brand-new one.
The 250cc liquid-cooled engine, which is completely new, churns out 30 hp of power and 25 Nm of peak torque. The brand claims a 0-60 kph timing of 3.25 seconds, which is faster than the Pulsar N250 (3.98 seconds) and KTM 250 Duke (3.44 seconds).
If this comes out to be true for the production variant of this motorcycle then it will become the fastest accelerating motorcycle in this segment.
The motorcycle gets upside-down forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear, both of which are coupled into the steel trellis frame of the motorcycle. It also gets a beefy upswept exhaust which enhances the motorcycle’s muscular aesthetics.

Hero Xtreme 250R: Expected pricing and launch date
The motorcycle is expected to make its India debut early next year. We expect Hero to price it aggressively to undercut all its competitors, considering Hero's late entry into this segment.
Hence, with the Hero Xtreme 160R priced at INR 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant, we expect Hero to launch the Xtreme 250R under INR 2 lakhs when it comes to India possibly in early 2025.
