The nation has been drooling over the latest Mahindra EVs for the last couple of months. These cars have gained the attention of automobile enthusiasts across the country due to their eye-magnetic design and mind-numbing performance. The Indian SUV giant left everyone wanting more at their Unlimit India event in November 2024 by showcasing the cars and keeping their prices under the curtains.
However, the brand has now revealed comprehensive pricing and other details of both SUVs, giving us a better understanding of their market positioning and availability.
The BE 6 and XEV 9e are both very futuristic-looking vehicles. Even if they were not launched officially, most people would consider them concept cars, which shows how radical these new electric vehicles look. Now let’s get to the pricing details of these cars.
Mahindra XEV 9e variants and pricing
Mahindra XEV 9e will be offered in three variants; base Pack One, mid Pack Two and top Pack Three.
The Pack One variant’s introductory ex-showroom price is set at INR 21.9 lakhs. The top-end Pack Three variant's price has been set at INR 30.5 lakhs (ex-showroom). Weirdly, Mahindra kept mum on the price of the mid-variant.
The important thing to note is that buyers will have to pay separately for a charger. Just like a brand-new iPhone, you don't get a charger with the car. Bummer!

Mahindra BE 6 variants and pricing
Just like the XEV 9e, the Mahindra BE 6 is also offered in three variants; base Pack One, mid Pack Two and the top of the line Pack Three.
The base Pack One variant has been launched at an introductory ex-showroom price of INR 18.9 lakhs. The top-end Pack Three variant of the BE 6 has been priced at INR 26.9 lakhs (ex-showroom). No details on the mid-tier variant though. Just like the XEV 9e, the brand is not offering a charger with this car, so the buyers will have to pay separately for that.
Do these prices make sense?
The Mahindra BE 6 is offered with two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh, both with an ARAI claimed range of 556 km and 682 km respectively.
The 59 kWh battery model is coupled with a 231 hp motor whereas the 79 kWh model is mated to a 281 hp motor. The base variant of the BE 6 is available with a rear-wheel drive system and only a 59 kWh battery pack. However, the mid and top-end variants have an all-wheel drive system.

As for the XEV 9e, this large family SUV is also offered with 59 kWh and 79kWh battery packs, where Mahindra claims a range of 542km and 656 km respectively. The base variant of the car will get the smaller battery while the top-end variant gets a 79kWh battery pack.
Both cars are equipped with fast DC charging capabilities. They can be changed from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in just 20 minutes using the 175kW DC charger. The 59kWh battery pack variant of the cars can be charged from 0 to 100 per cent in just 6 hours whereas the 79kWh battery will take 8 hours, with an 11.2kW AC charger.
There will also be an option to purchase a 7.3kW AC charger that can charge the 59kWh battery from 0 to 100 per cent in 8.7 hours and it will take 11.7 hours for the 79kWh battery pack.
And then there's more.

Cutting-edge features
The BE 6 is equipped with a cockpit-like design with twin 12.3-inch displays which are powered by Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture (MAIA). The car is also equipped with a whole host of modern features including Level 2 ADAS, Dolby Atmos Harman Kardon sound system, 5G connectivity, seven airbags and much more.
The XEV 9e is also equipped with a plethora of modern features such as triple 12.3-inch screens, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a tyre pressure monitor, brake-by-wire and an electric parking brake. The 9e also boasts a 665-litre boot and a 150-litre frunk which enhances the practicality of the E SUV.
With that in mind, it seems that the prices of these electric SUVs are justified!
Bookings and delivery dates of BE 6 and XEV 9e
The brand has said to start booking for the top-end variants of both cars from February 14, 2025, and the deliveries are expected to begin in March 2025. The cars will be available for test drives from January 14, 2025, in selected cities and the brand will make it available throughout the nation from February 7, 2025.
