Although a trio of drifting BMW sports cars hogged all the attention of onlookers and attendees, there was one other brand that made headlines from within the stalls – Hero Motocorp.

Look beyond the large helmet and all the exciting props and there appears a treasure trove of motorcycles and scooters all set to entice enthusiastic riders. Two new scooters, three new motorcycles and a couple of updates to the existing models could possibly make Hero rule the entire market this year.

Hence, we spent some time within the Hero stall at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025 and examined some of Hero’s heroes (apologies for the pun) up close.

The Xtreme 250R has been an attention magnet at the Auto Expo 2025 and for all the good reasons. Not only does the motorcycle look extremely handsome and well-finished, the Xtreme 250R also packs a powerful new 250cc engine that makes 30 PS of peak power and 25 Nm of peak torque, all of which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Once you factor in the low price of INR 1.79 lakh ex-showroom, the Xtreme 250R ends up being a more tempting and affordable alternative to the KTM 250 Duke.

And look at those colours!

Karizma XMR 250

Karizma250

The Karizma XMR 250 is essentially a faired version of the Xtreme 250R and while some may object to its existence, riders might be getting a great sports tourer. The fairing with the large flyscreen should help deflect wind on highway runs and those winglets add to the novelty factor (they aren’t functional though!). The new 250cc engine could finally give the Karizma nameplate the modern performance it deserved.

Xoom 125

The Hero Xoom 125 is Hero’s sportier offering in the growing 125cc scooter market. The Xoom 125 looks a lot like the Xoom 110, save for the new headlamps, tailamps and a couple of other bits. There’s also the same 125cc engine from the Destini 125 scooter in a sportier state of tune, making 9.8 PS of peak power and 10.6 Nm of peak torque. There’s enough gadgetry and gizmos to keep young riders happy.

Will Ntorq 125 buyers face a dilemma now?

Xoom 160

The Xoom 160, however, was the star of Hero’s scooter pavilion. Touted as Hero’s first maxi-scooter, the Xoom 160 relies on a 155cc engine making 14 PS of peak power and 13.7 Nm of peak torque. This makes it a worthy rival of the superfast Yamaha Aerox 155 – the king of performance scooters in India. The Xoom 160 commands a lot of road presence with its fancy headlights and large flyscreen. The BYBRE front disc brake hints at serious performance credentials, especially for a scooter costing INR 1,48,500.

Xpulse 210

The Xpulse 210 made its debut at the Auto Expo 2025 and off-road enthusiasts can’t keep calm. First, the price tag of INR 1,78,800 makes it quite appealing. Second is the 210cc engine borrowed from the Karizma XMR 210, which makes 24 PS of peak power and 20 Nm of peak torque. The chassis is all-new, which paired with the long-travel suspension and disc brakes could make it a great choice for beginners as well as those seeking a lightweight off-roading motorcycle.

Updated Mavrick 440

The Mavrick 440 hasn’t been the success that Hero had hoped. Hence, for 2025, Hero’s engineers have given this humble retro sports roadster USD forks and the same digital console from its pricey Harley Davidsonsibling. The design team then painted the USD forks in a shade of gold (because Bajaj did it for the Triumph bikes) and gave the motorcycle some new colours (the grey colourway looks fantastic). In the flesh, the Mavrick 440 now looks more appealing and we only wish if Hero had done something for the motorcycle’s rear end.
