The Kia EV9 is the most expensive vehicle it offers in India. With a starting price of INR 1.3 crore (ex-showroom), this is touted as the ultimate Kia SUV that money can buy. Bookings for the car are now open and deliveries are expected to commence next month.
But what if the EV9 isn't 'off-roady' enough for you? Fair question, considering that luxury vehicles of the EV9's dimensions are mostly meant to garner on-road presence. Hence, the designers and engineers at Kia have come up with a beefier variant of this luxurious electric barge. It is called the EV9 ADVNTR and in case you didn't get the hint, this one is all dressed up for adventure off the road.
Before you start pestering the nearest Kia dealership, hold on to your horses. The EV9 ADVNTR is a concept for now and Kia hasn't confirmed a production variant of the same (yet). However, there's no harm in checking out everything this behemoth has to offer.

EV9 ADVNTR: Will this shame the Hummer EV?
We don't think so. The Hummer EV is so... Hummer! This one still looks like a Kia EV9 on steroids.
Nonetheless, the Mad Max vibes are present here. Showcased at the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, it retains the core design of the original EV9 but the durable bits have been added to help it withstand more challenging terrains.
The primary modifications over the standard EV9 include a three-inch lift kit in the vehicle's height, enhanced off-road-capable tyres and rugged wheels. The front and rear bumpers have been updated while the front features towing hooks and additional lights for improved visibility at night. The roof of the EV9 ADVNTR is equipped with mounting bars that can support a tent, making it an ideal companion for weekend adventures. Additionally, the roof rack can be used to transport luggage and hiking gear. It can even support a roof-mounted tent for outdoor excursions.

Is the stock Kia EV9 worth it now?
A resounding yes if you don't plan to take your SUV off the road. The Kia EV9 is built to cruise comfortably on highways and chauffer executives around the city.
The vanilla variant is designed for luxury and extreme comfort. It features a 350kW DC fast charger, which can charge the vehicle from 10 to 80 per cent in just 24 minutes. The estimated range of the EV9 is 304 miles. The vehicle is already available in multiple variants, including the high-performance GT variant.
