The Dzire has been Indians entry into the sedan segment, and now the fourth-generation model is set to raise the standard. It comes with a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine in the Z-series, offering both a five-speed manual and an automatic transmission option.
The all-new Dzire will be available in showrooms from November 11 in four main variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus. Let’s dive into the details of these new offerings and explore all the changes in this updated model.
Look and design
Maruti Suzuki has made the new Dzire edgy. The curves from the previous generation have given way to sharper lines with more creases and angular elements. The DRLs are integrated with LED lamps, which is a common practice by car manufacturers these days. The radiator grille consists of horizontally arranged slats and the alloy wheels now come in dual-tone colourways. The tail section is also revised, with a clear line connecting both ends of the Y-shaped tail section.
The Dzire now has a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It features a three-spoke steering wheel with physical buttons and a wireless charging system. The biggest cosmetic update in the new Dzire is the all-new single-pane electric sunroof, which is coming to this segment for the first time.

Performance and fuel efficiency
The new Maruti Dzire comes with a three-cylinder, 1.2-litre Z-series petrol engine that produces 82bhp of power and 112 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between two transmissions: a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT. Maruti will also launch a CNG version of this vehicle.
The Dzire has always been a top choice for fuel-efficient drivers, which is why it's popular among cab drivers and daily commuters. The company claims a mileage of around 24.79 km/l for the manual version and 25.71 km/l for the AMT.
The new Maruti Dzire is expected to weigh between 920 kg and 960 kg. The relatively lower weight should help the Dzire in its pursuit of achieving greater fuel efficiency.
