Triumph will kickstart 2025 on a triumphant note. Quite literally! 🤓Â
Just as the Sun starts to set in 2024, Triumph’s Indian arm has confirmed bringing one of its recently updated big bikes to the Indian market – the Speed Twin 900. For all those wondering about the Speed Twin 900 already being present in India, Triumph has quietly updated the motorcycle for 2025 with subtle styling tweaks and a couple of core riding elementsÂ
The new Speed Twin 900 retains the Bonneville twin-cylinder engine from the outgoing variant, producing the same kind of peak power and torque figures. However, changes have been made to other crucial areas that could make it compelling enough for others to give it a try.
While Triumph India is yet to reveal the price and a potential release date, we expect the British manufacturer to make big announcements at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. The specifications and features list is out though and that’s what we are interested in finding out today.Â

New Triumph Speed Twin 900: What’s actually new?
The 2025 update is largely an iterative update rather than a generational upgrade and hence, the changes are mostly skin-deep, except for a few additional kits.Â
The Speed Twin 900 now looks a tad sportier courtesy of its slightly redesigned body panels. The motorcycle takes inspiration from the larger Speed Twin 1200 – the inspiration for designers can’t get any better. The LED headlamp with fancier DRLs enhances the motorcycle’s appearance whereas the short fenders, a restyled engine casing and new exhaust pipes lend the motorcycle a better look.
The colourways on the new model look striking, especially the Pure White with Blue and Orange stripes. Those seeking subtle colourways may seek Phantom Black and Aluminium Silver. Â

Does the new bike go faster?
Likely not. The engine still makes 65 bhp of peak power and 80 Nm of peak torque, which is still plenty fast but not any faster than the outgoing model.Â
However, the new Speed Twin 900 gets certain components that could enhance the overall riding experience. The new Marzocchi USD forks and twin rear springs, with a new 320mm disc brake for the front paired with radial callipers. The 18-inch front and the 17-inch rear alloy wheels now wearÂ
Michelin Road 5 tyres.Â
On the safety front, the new Speed Twin 900 gets lean-sensitive ABS and traction control as standard. Riders also get a new TFT display onboard. The seat height, which was initially set at a low 765mm, has now been raised to 780mm. Short riders, however, have the option to go for a lower 760mm seat as an accessory.Â
