The 400cc segment is becoming hotter month-by-month and/or year-by-year. This segment currently includes competitors like Triumph Speed 400, Husqvarna Svartpilen, and KTM 390 Duke, to name a few. It will get even more competitive after the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 arrives. The bike manufacturer has, however, trademarked the Guerrilla 450 name in India.
So, let’s get rolling with the expected features and specifications of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450.
RE Guerrilla 450 Trademark
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Underpinnings
For starters, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has the same underpinnings as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. As the title suggests, these two 450cc bikes share the DNA. As per sources and spied images, the Guerrilla 450 has a neo-retro roadster design language. This homegrown bike has a single-piece seat, a slim tail section, and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank. It is also worth mentioning that the RE Guerrilla will have the taillight and turn indicators clubbed, as seen on the new Himalayan.
The offering where the Guerrilla 450 differs from the Himalayan 450 is the suspension setup. Unlike the latter, the former is expected to have a simpler telescopic fork instead of a USD fork suspension. Additionally, the Guerrilla iteration from Royal Enfield will most likely have 17-inches alloy wheels at both ends.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Powertrain
The chassis of the Guerrilla 450 holds a 452cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder DOHC Sherpa 450 engine, which is tuned to churn out 40bhp of peak power at 8000rpm and 40Nm of peak torque at 5500rpm. The same engine with the same figures powers the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The Guerrilla is expected to make its rear wheel spin via a six-speed transmission with a slipper-assist clutch feature.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Features
As for features, this bike is expected to have the Tripper TFT display, borrowed from the Himalayan but may also use a semi-digital instrument cluster, as seen on the Meteor 650. The type of display unit is, however, yet to be declared. Apart from that, the Guerrilla 450 bike will have LED headlamps, which are widely offered on the new-age Royal Enfield bikes. Other offerings comprise front and rear disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, ride-by-wire throttle system, adjustable rear ABS, Bluetooth connectivity, and ride modes, to name a few.
However, it will miss out on a few features that are there on the Himalayan 450. That said, it will be positioned below the latter.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Pricing and Availability
As per sources, this homegrown 450 offering is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2024. Additionally, it is rumoured that it will be a powerful version of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, thereby, it may be named the 'Hunter 450' or 'Guerrilla 450'. It is worth noting that the Guerrilla 450 is also heavily inspired by the Hunter 350. Yes, we can say that this bike is a blend of the Himalayan 450 and Hunter 350.
Once launched, it will lock horns with the KTM 390 Duke, Triumph Speed 400, Honda CB300R, and Husqvarna Svartpilen 401.
