Triumph India has finally launched their middle-weight sportbike, the Daytona 660, in the Indian market. This is currently the brand’s most powerful 660cc motorcycle and it competes with other compelling options like the Kawasaki Ninja 660 and Aprilia 660.
All You Need to Know About the Triumph Daytona 660
The Triumph Daytona 660 has joined Triumph India's 660cc lineup as the third bike, after the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660. The Daytona borrows its engine from those motorcycles. It has the same three-cylinder 660cc mill, but it is in its highest state of tune here, as it churns out 95hp and 69Nm of torque.
These performance figures are 14hp and 3Nm higher as compared to its siblings. However, these performance figures are not at par with the Daytona 675, but the brand claims that this motorcycle is much more user-friendly and comfortable.
The Daytona 660 is 12kg heavier than the Trident 660, but only 5kg lighter than the Tiger Sport 660. The motorcycle has a seat height of 810mm, which is 25mm less than the Tiger Sport 660 and 5mm higher than the Trident 660. The motorcycle is offered in three colours: Snowdonia White, Satin Granite and Carnival Red. It has a 14-litre fuel tank.
The Daytona 660 is priced at Rs 9.72 lakh, ex-showroom. It is Rs 27000 higher than the Tiger Sport 660 and Rs 1.60 lakh higher than the Trident 660 in the Indian market. Competitors like the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the Aprilia RS 660 are priced at Rs 7.16 lakh ex-showroom and Rs 17.74 lakh ex-showroom, respectively.
