Samsung Unveils Odyssey 3D, Odyssey OLED G8, and Odyssey G9 Gaming Monitors In India: Pricing Details, Specifications

Samsung has introduced three new gaming monitors in India: Odyssey 3D, Odyssey OLED G8, and Odyssey G9. The monitors introduce advanced features that enhance gaming and multimedia experience with features like viewing of 3D content without using glasses, high refresh rates, and improved colour performance.

Pricing and Availability

Samsung Odyssey 3D (G90XF) is available for ₹1,27,299.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) comes in two variants:

• 27-inch variant priced at ₹91,299
• 32-inch variant priced at ₹1,18,999

Samsung Odyssey G9 (G91F) costs ₹94,099.

The entire range is available on Samsung India's official website, popular websites, and large retail stores. Samsung is providing launch offers of up to ₹10,000 for early customers.

Samsung Odyssey 3D (G90XF) – Key Features

Odyssey 3D is a 27-inch 4K (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) monitor with a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms grey-to-grey (GTG) response time. It is intended for the display of 3D content without the need for glasses, through eye-tracking technology and a view mapping algorithm.

Eye tracking is controlled by an embedded stereo camera, which tracks the eye movements of the viewer.

View Mapping alters on-screen images to improve depth perception.

The screen is powered by Light Field Display (LFD) technology to toggle between 2D and 3D.

The other specifications are AMD FreeSync Premium, spatial audio using integrated stereo speakers, and connectivity using DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 connectors.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) – Key Features

The Odyssey OLED G8 is available in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes, both of which support 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) and 240Hz refresh rate. It supports an ultra-low 0.03ms GTG response time that minimizes motion blur for rapid games.

The monitor employs Quantum Dot OLED technology that improves color performance and contrast. It is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified to support deeper blacks and rich colors. The screen's peak brightness is rated at 250 nits.

Samsung provides AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support for less screen tearing. It also supports:

Samsung Odyssey G9 (G91F) – Key Features

The largest of the three is the Odyssey G9, which boasts a humongous 49-inch screen with DQHD resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels. It features a 144Hz refresh rate, a 1ms response time, VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, and 350 nits peak brightness.

Similar to the rest of the models, it offers AMD FreeSync Premium and HDR10+, contributing to a smoother and more lively viewing experience. The G9 is perfect for multitasking as well as for content creators, thanks to its Picture-by-Picture (PBP) and Picture-in-Picture (PIP) modes. These enable individuals to show input from several devices simultaneously.

It also features an Auto Source Switch+ feature, which automatically recognizes and switches over to connected devices.
