The Oppo Find X series has returned to India. The brand has launched the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro in India, which will compete directly with Apple's iPhone 16 series and upcoming flagship phones, including the Realme GT 7 Pro, Vivo X200 Series and iQOO 13.

The Find X, Oppo’s flagship smartphone series, has been away from India since 2020's Find X2. The Oppo group may have made this decision after observing the success of other brands’ flagship line-ups, particularly the Xiaomi 14 and Vivo X100 Series.

Oppo has high expectations for its latest Find X8 and Find X8 Pro in India. Let’s take a closer look at what these devices offer and their pricing.

The Oppo Find X8 series is positioned as a premium category phone in India. The Find X8 is available in two storage configurations: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage priced at INR 69,999 and 16GB RAM with 512GB storage priced at INR 79,999. It comes in two colours – Star Grey and Space Black.

The Find X8 Pro is available in a single configuration: 16GB RAM with 512GB storage priced at INR 99,999. It also comes in two colours – Pearl White and Space Black.

Both devices will go on sale starting from 3rd December on Flipkart, Oppo's online store and offline retail outlets.

Oppo is offering numerous benefits for consumers purchasing the Find X8 series. It is offering a 10 per cent instant cashback on SBI, HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank, Bank of Baroda and IDFC First Bank cards. The brand is also providing no-cost EMI options for up to 24 months with these bank cards.

Customers who pre-book the devices before 3rd December will receive a one-year extended warranty.

Major differences between Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro

While both the Find X8 models look identical, several differences make the Find X8 Pro a more premium offering than the Find X8.

The first difference is in the display panels of the two phones. The Oppo Find X8 Pro features a 6.78-inch screen with a resolution of 2760 x 1256 pixels whereas the Find X8 has a slightly smaller 6.59-inch display with a resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels. Both phones feature a 120Hz LTPO AMOLED panel, 4500 nits of peak brightness and HDR10+ Dolby Vision support.

The Find X8 weighs 193 grams and is 7.85mm thick, while the Find X8 Pro is slightly heavier at 215 grams and 8.24mm thick.

Another key difference lies in the battery. The Oppo Find X8 is equipped with a 5,630mAh battery whereas the Find X8 Pro has a slightly larger 5,910mAh battery. Both models support 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging, 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The primary distinction that sets the Find X8 Pro apart is its camera system.

The Oppo Find X8 features a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel Sony LYT700 primary sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with autofocus and a 50-megapixel 3x telephoto lens with OIS.

The Oppo Find X8 Pro, on the other hand, boasts a quad-camera setup with dual telephoto lenses. It includes a 50-megapixel Sony LYT808 wide sensor with a larger f/1.6 aperture, a 50-megapixel Sony LYT600 and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX858, both with OIS.

Both camera systems offer AI zoom capabilities and feature a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Both the rear and front cameras can record videos in 4K at 60fps.

Everything about the Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro

The Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro are powered by the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, making them the first devices in India to feature this chip. This SoC competes directly with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, launched last month. Both devices come with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage configurations.

They run on the latest ColorOS 15 operating system based on Android 15. Oppo says that ColorOS is feature-rich, smooth and has tons of customisation options. It also comes with a feature that allows users to send their files from Oppo phones to Apple iPhones easily. You can read about the process here.

The new OS also brings several AI features to the Find X8 series devices. It includes an AI reflection eraser, AI unblur, AI clarity enhancer, Circle to Search and more. The Oppo Find X8 will receive four years of Android updates whereas the Find X8 Pro will receive five years of Android updates. Not quite on the same level as a Google Pixel or a Samsung Galaxy but a good initiative nonetheless.

Coming back to the Find X8's hardware, both devices are certified to be IP68 and IP69 water-dust resistant, which assures no issues when exposed to splashes of water and dust.

These devices support Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and yet been launched in India. Why does the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro not enjoy that luxury in India then?
