Having something is better than nothing at all! (All puns intended and we aren’t apologetic) Hence, Nothing decided to keep its cash registers flowing by launching two affordable smartphones as part of its (a) series devices last year. The Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus were good phones that didn’t cost a bomb to own and as a result, they found a lot of takers. Nothing is now willing to replicate the same success this year with the Phone (3a).

Actually, the Phone (3a) is now a series instead of a single device. Although Nothing is keeping the exact names of the handset under the blanket, leaks have affirmed that this cost-effective series will consist of the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro. No Plus variant this year!

Considering the fact that Nothing is owned by Carl Pei, a man who is considered the hype master, some details about the Phone (3a) have been revealed and there will be more so in the weeks to come. Plus, there are tipsters who are eager to reveal a lot more.

Hence, buckle up as we explore everything we know about the Nothing Phone (3a) series.

Two phones! What else do we know?

The design, which has been teased on Nothing’s social media!

The teaser video hints at Nothing not changing things too much for the (3a) series. The Glyph LED lights seem to be positioned in an identical pattern as the Phone (2a) and while the rest of the back panel is shrouded in darkness, the rear camera seems to be longer than usual. Based on the rumours, it seems that the Phone (3a) will feature a triple camera setup this time – a 50-megapixel main lens, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. Going high on optical ambitions?

Moving ahead, the Phone (3a) is rumoured to feature a 6.8-inch FHD+ resolution OLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. Ditching the MediaTek chips, Nothing is apparently settling for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, which promises decent midrange performance on the same levels as the Dimensity 7300. We believe the Nothing OS skin based on Android 15 should be well-optimised for daily tasks and casual gaming.

Other rumoured features include a 5000 mAh battery, 45 W wired charging and support for NFC. The base variant will get 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage whereas the top variant will get 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. Nothing will offer it in black and white colourways.

What about the Phone (3a) Pro?

Not a lot is known about it yet. However, tipsters say that the Phone (3a) Pro will come in a shade of grey and will feature 12GB RAM as standard across all variants.

When is the Phone (3a) series launching?

A supposedly cryptic tweet and a Flipkart banner confirm that the Phone (3a) series will be launched in India on 4 March 2025. The prices are expected to be on par with what the Phone (2a) cost at the time of the launch.

These (3a) series devices are expected to put up a good fight against the likes of the OnePlus Nord 4, Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus and Realme 14 Pro Plus.
