Mahindra is on a roll when it comes to updating its lineup in India. After refreshing popular models like the Thar and Bolero, the company now seems ready to shift gears toward its electric future. Fresh spy shots of the Mahindra XEV 7e — the all-electric sibling of the XUV700 — have surfaced online, hinting that a launch could be closer than expected.
What the Spy Shots Reveal
A camouflaged test unit of the XEV 7e was recently spotted at a charging station in Hubli, Karnataka. Despite the heavy wraps, the images give away some interesting details. The SUV is likely to sport a closed-off front grille (a common EV design trait), bold LED daytime running lamps, and a full-width LED light bar at the front.
The overall silhouette will remain similar to the XUV700, but Mahindra is expected to add distinct touches to set the EV apart. These could include redesigned bumpers, a sharper C-pillar, and connected LED tail lamps at the rear, giving the SUV a fresh, futuristic edge.
Platform, Performance, and Interiors
Underneath, the XEV 7e will ride on Mahindra’s dedicated INGLO electric platform, which also supports future models like the BE 6 and XEV 9e. Buyers may get two battery options — a 59 kWh pack and a larger 79 kWh pack. Reports suggest a dual-motor setup with all-wheel drive, which should make it a capable SUV both on and off the road.
Inside, Mahindra seems to be taking a premium approach. While final details aren’t out yet, earlier leaks hint at a triple-screen dashboard, a modern two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, and other high-end cabin upgrades.
Expected Launch Timeline
Although Mahindra hasn’t confirmed an exact launch date, the XEV 7e appears to be in advanced testing. Industry buzz suggests that the electric SUV could officially debut in early 2026, making it one of the brand’s key EV offerings in India.
