Honor appears to be gearing up for the launch of its next big battery-focused smartphone. After introducing the Honor Power in China earlier this year, new leaks now suggest that its successor, the Honor Power 2, could arrive as early as January 2026.

According to recent reports, the upcoming model will bring a major change under the hood. Unlike the first Honor Power, which was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, the new phone is expected to switch to MediaTek’s platform, marking a notable shift in Honor’s hardware strategy.

Leaked details hint at massive battery upgrade

Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has shared information about a device with the codename “Saber”, which is widely believed to be the Honor Power 2. The leak suggests the phone will run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 processor, which has not yet been officially announced.

The biggest highlight, however, is the battery. The Honor Power 2 is tipped to pack a huge 10,080mAh battery, a big jump from the already large 8,000mAh battery seen on the current model. Charging speeds are also expected to improve, with support for 80W wired fast charging, up from 66W on the original Honor Power.

Display, cameras, and design expectations

On the front, the Honor Power 2 is said to feature a 6.79-inch LTPS flat display with a 1.5K resolution (1,200 × 2,640 pixels). For photography, leaks point to a 50MP rear camera and a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

In terms of design, the phone may launch in Snow White, Midnight Black, and Sunrise Orange color options. While Honor has not confirmed any of these details yet, the device is expected to sit firmly in the mid-range segment.

Honor has been busy lately, having recently launched the Honor Magic 8 Lite, which also focuses on battery life and camera performance. The company is also rumored to be working on the Honor Magic 8 Mini and Honor 500 Pro, signaling an aggressive product roadmap.

If these leaks turn out to be accurate, the Honor Power 2 could stand out as one of the most battery-heavy smartphones in its category. For context, the original Honor Power came with an Adreno 720 GPU and up to 12GB of RAM, and the new MediaTek-powered model is expected to push performance and endurance even further.

As always, official confirmation from Honor is still awaited, but the early signs suggest a strong upgrade focused on long battery life and faster charging.
