OnePlus has finally confirmed what many fans have been speculating for months. The company is officially working on a new smartphone lineup called the OnePlus Turbo series. The confirmation came on Monday from Li Jie Louis, President of OnePlus China, who said that the series is already under development and will launch soon.

Earlier rumors suggested that “Turbo” was just the name of a single phone. However, OnePlus has now made it clear that this will be a full series with multiple devices. Reports also suggest that some of these phones could launch in markets like India within the next two months, though OnePlus has not shared an official timeline yet.

Built for power users and gamers

In a post shared on Weibo, Li Jie Louis revealed that the Turbo series was formally announced during OnePlus’s 12th anniversary event. While he did not share detailed specifications, he highlighted two key focus areas: exceptional battery life and extremely strong performance.

According to OnePlus, the Turbo series will offer the best battery life in its category, paired with performance levels similar to the brand’s flagship smartphones. This strongly hints at the use of top-tier processors, possibly including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, which is also expected to power the upcoming OnePlus 15.

The company also described the Turbo lineup as gaming-focused, suggesting it will target users who care about sustained performance, high refresh rates, and long gaming sessions. Pricing and exact positioning within OnePlus’s existing lineup have not been confirmed yet.

What we know so far about the hardware

Before this official announcement, leaks pointed to a phone called the OnePlus Ace 6 Turbo. Many believed this would be a single device, but OnePlus’s confirmation of a full Turbo series suggests a bigger plan. The rumored phone may still exist, but it could launch under the new Turbo branding instead of the Ace lineup.

Leaks suggest the phone could feature a 6.78-inch LTPS OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a high refresh rate of 144Hz or even 165Hz. The biggest talking point, however, is the battery. The device is rumored to pack a massive 9,000mAh battery, which lines up with OnePlus’s promise of class-leading endurance.

Expected launch timeline

According to current leaks, the phone previously referred to as the OnePlus Ace 6 Turbo may launch in China around January or February 2026. Some reports claim it could be a mid-range model powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset.

That said, the confirmation of the OnePlus Turbo series suggests that OnePlus may launch multiple Turbo-branded phones, possibly with different processors and price points, to cater to various performance-focused users.

More official details are expected in the coming weeks as OnePlus moves closer to launch.
