After the launch of the Tata Curvv EV, the Indian automobile manufacturer has finally launched the ICE version of the Coupe SUV, with a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). There are six exterior colour options that the customers can choose from: Pristine White, Pure Grey, Daytona Grey, Flame Red, Opera Blue, and Gold Essence.
Exterior
The Tata Curvv ICE looks nearly identical to the Curvv EV, but there are a few distinctive design elements that make both versions distinctive from each other. The ICE-based Curvv houses a black panel spanning the upper grille, a reprofiled central air dam, and a unique set of flower petal-like-shaped alloy wheels.
Further, this made-in-India Tata Curvv ICE incorporates a linked LED DRL strip that supports welcome and goodbye functions. The front grille has chrome-finished studs (as seen on the Harrier), while the headlights and fog lamps are vertically positioned on the front bumper’s lower section.
In addition, the company has provided flush door handles, plus there is a width-spanning LED taillight, an elevated boot lid with a chrome-finished Curvv logo, and a rear bumper with a faux skid plate, finished in silver.
Interior
As for the Tata Curvv’s interior, this homegrown Coupe SUV has a premium-looking cabin layout. The upholstery has a dual-tone Burgundy colour scheme.
The features onboard include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit (supports wireless- Android Auto and -Apple CarPlay), ventilated front seats, and a panoramic dual-pane sunroof.
There is also ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat, an electric tailgate with gesture control, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, and a 360-degree camera.
The 2024 Curvv also boasts a blind-view monitor and a Level-2 ADAS, including lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.
More on features, this vehicle has six airbags (as standard), traction control, auto headlamps, 60:40 split seats, anti-glare IRVM, a 9-speaker audio system, ride modes, reclining rear seats, ABS with EBD, and disc brakes on all four wheels, among others.
Performance
The Tata Curvv is based on the new ATLAS platform. ATLAS stands for Adaptive Tech Forward Architecture, and the company has confirmed that this chassis will support future Tata cars, including SUVs.
Further, the Tata Curvv ICE has three engine options: an all-new 1.2-litre Hyperion engine (petrol), a 1.2-litre Revotron engine (petrol), and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. All are turbocharged engines.
The new Hyperion petrol engine produces 123bhp at 5000rpm and 225Nm of peak torque between 1700-3500rpm, while the Revotron petrol engine and diesel engine produce 118bhp/170Nm and 116bhp/260Nm, respectively.
The transmission options comprise a standard six-speed manual and an optional seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Variants and Pricing
Tata Motors sells the 2024 Curvv Coupe SUV in four broad trims: Smart, Pure, Creative, and Accomplished.
The ICE-based Tata Curvv’s price starts at Rs 9.99 lakh for the base variant, Smart Petrol MT, and goes up to Rs 17.69 lakh for the top-most variant, Accomplished+ A Diesel MT.
