The Kia Syros has been in the hype belt for a while and after the conclusion of the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, the automotive community expected the prices to be ousted. It took Kia a while to gauge the market interest and finally reveal how much a brand-new Syros would cost interested customers.
INR 8.9 lakh! That’s how much it would cost someone to procure the base model of the Syros in India as long as you opt for the petrol engine variant. Those opting for the diesel engine variant will need to shell out at least INR 10 lakh. Note that these prices are all ex-showroom.

Where does the Kia Syros sit in its compact SUV segment?

The Syros with its starting price of INR 8.9 lakh is among the more premium offerings in the sub-compact SUV segment. The Maruti Brezza still undercuts the Syros with its starting price of INR 8.3 lakh whereas the newly launched Skoda Kylaq is the most affordable of the lot at INR 7.89 lakh. The Tata Nexon in petrol starts at INR 8 lakh, thus making the Syros appear pricey.
In comparison to the existing competition, the Kia Syros is definitely a lot more premium. However, the Syros has been engineered to appeal to a different category of compact SUV buyers who value backseat space, modern features and cutting-edge design. In fact, the Syros seems best suited for those with a family of four that prioritises space, comfort and luxury over long distances.
If the Syros seems pricey, Kia continues to sell the Sonet as a more cost-effective alternative, starting at INR 7.9 lakh ex-showroom. The Sonet misses out on modern tech features and the lavish backseat space but makes up for it with its sportier driving dynamics and compact dimensions, both of which make it city-friendly.
