KTM entered the Indian market in 2012 with the 200 Duke, intending to establish its image as a brand that promises performance-focused and technically advanced motorcycles. They currently have twelve products in their India portfolio and while most are doing well in terms of sales, the Indian fanbase demands more. After a brief showing of the 790 Duke a couple of years ago, KTM has decided to give it another shot with its large-capacity motorcycles.

Yes, that means India is ready to greet motorcycles that carry the Super Duke R and Super Adventure names on their tanks!

KTM is upgrading its portfolio to compete with the recently launched 'big motorcycles' from rival brands like Triumph, Aprilia, Yamaha and Royal Enfield.

KTM Mehkri Circle (a KTM Showroom in Bangalore) is under renovation to become KTM India’s first flagship store.

The big KTMs are now here

The company has released a banner announcing the start of bookings for the 1390 Super Duke R, and 1390 Super Adventure S EVO. The banner also has images of the motocross and enduro motorcycles of the brand. Hence, it is expected that KTM will bring these products to our shores as well.

Based on the reports, bookings for 990 Duke and 890 Adventure R are also expected to begin shortly.

These motorcycles are set to break covers officially at the 2024 India Bike Week (IBW) held between 6th to 8th December, 2024 in Goa. KTM India will be importing all these machines as CBU (Completely Built Units) from their hometown in Austria, meaning, high import duties and high pricing.

1390 Super Duke R

This is the brand’s flagship street naked motorcycle. It looks smashing with sharp body panels and cool graphics all around. Propelling the 1390 Super Duke R is a 1,350cc V-twin petrol burner that churns out 190 HP and 140 Nm of torque. These numbers should make it a delight for swift city riding and quick overtakes on the highways.

1390 Super Adventure S EVO

This is KTM's flagship adventure tourer motorcycle. Just like other ADVs, this too has a bulky design which gives it a massive road presence. The motorcycle will be powered by a 1,350cc liquid-cooled V-Twin engine that churns out 173 HP and 145Nm of torque. The 1390 Super Adventure S EVO will end up as a lucrative option for highway tourers who have to 'settle' for BMW's GS motorcycles.

The 390 ADV Enduro

KTM India plans to launch the 390 Adventure Enduro in the Indian market along side the high-capacity Duke and Super Adventure motorcycles.

This one has typical Enduro aesthetics with a narrow design, sharp tank and raised front fender. It will borrow its engine from the 390 Duke, but the engine could be tuned differently to suit this motorcycle’s characteristics.

Motocross

There is no confirmation on the exact model that will kickstart KTM’s Motocross arsenal in India. However, it is speculated to be either the 2025 KTM 450 SX-F or the 2025 KTM 250 SX-F could be the stars on the stage. These machines have all the typical Motocross design elements like long suspension travel, swept-up exhaust, block pattern tyres and more.

990 Duke

The 990 Duke is another magnificent street fighter by the Austrian manufacturer. This looks similar to the flagship 1390 Super Duke R and is powered by a 990cc parallel twin engine which pumps out 121 HP and 103 Nm of peak torque. This should be an ideal machine for those who want a powerful street fighter from the brand that isn't as mental as the 1390 Super Duke R.

890 Adventure R
