Tesla has officially begun delivering its Model Y to customers in India. The first batch of cars was handed over on September 29, just two months after the company announced its entry into the Indian market in July. This marks a big moment for EV enthusiasts in the country who’ve been waiting for Tesla’s arrival.

Variants, Price, and Performance

The Model Y is available in two versions in India:

  • Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): Priced at ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It offers a WLTP-certified range of 500 km and does 0–100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.

  • Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive: Priced at ₹67.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This variant stretches the range to 622 km and slightly improves acceleration with 0–100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.

Both options combine strong performance with long-distance driving ability, making them practical for city and highway use alike.

Charging Made Easy

To make ownership smoother, Tesla is including a free Wall Connector with every purchase, so new owners can set up convenient home charging. Beyond that, Tesla has already rolled out public charging stations in Mumbai and Delhi, featuring both V4 Superchargers and AC Destination Chargers. At peak 250 kW charging, the Model Y can recover up to 267 km of range in just 15 minutes — ideal for quick top-ups on longer drives.

Ordering and Experience Centers

Customers can book the Model Y directly through the Tesla India website. For those who prefer to check it out in person, Tesla has opened experience centers in Mumbai and Delhi. These spaces let potential buyers explore the car up close and get assistance with their purchase.
