Vivo has just launched two exciting smartphones in India on Monday, July 14, 2025 — the sleek and powerful Vivo X Fold 5, and the budget-conscious flagship, Vivo X200 FE. With this launch, Vivo is turning up the heat in India’s foldable market, stepping into the same ring as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Vivo X Fold 5: The Foldable Gets Bolder

The Vivo X Fold 5 is the brand’s second foldable in India and it’s packed with meaningful upgrades. Starting with its displays, the phone features a 6.53-inch AMOLED cover screen and an 8.03-inch main AMOLED display, both supporting a 120 Hz refresh rate and offering 4,500 nits peak brightness. The cover display is protected with second-generation Armor Glass, designed to withstand daily wear and tear.

When folded, the phone is just 9.2 mm thick, and when opened, it thins out to an impressive 4.3 mm — all while weighing only 217 grams. One standout feature: the Vivo X Fold 5 is the first foldable phone in India to carry IP58 and IP59 water resistance ratings, as well as IP5X dust protection.

Battery life is another strong point. It houses a massive 6,000 mAh battery, the biggest ever in a foldable, paired with 80 W wired fast charging and 40 W wireless charging.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, coupled with up to 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB UFS 4.1 storage. It runs on Funtouch OS 15, which is based on Android 15, offering smooth and responsive performance.

For photography lovers, the phone features a triple-lens setup with a 50 MP VCS bionic main camera, a 50 MP ZEISS telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x HyperZoom, and a 50 MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, it has 20 MP cameras on both the cover and main displays.

This year, Vivo X Fold 5 also debuts a new Shortcut button for instant access to important features. It introduces Gemini Assistant in partnership with Google, and comes with a full AI imaging suite, including AI Image Expander, AI Magic Move, AI Erase, and AI Reflection Erase tools to enhance your creative workflow.

Vivo X200 FE: Flagship Feel Without the Flagship Price

If foldables aren't your thing, Vivo X200 FE might be the right pick. Inspired by the X200 Pro, it brings powerful features to a more affordable segment. It offers a 6.31-inch display with an impressive 5,000 nits peak brightness and a 120 Hz refresh rate, making it great for outdoor and fluid viewing.

Built to last, the phone features Shield Glass for durability and holds IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance — something rarely seen in this price range.

Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, backed by up to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. Like its foldable sibling, it runs on Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15.

For photography, the Vivo X200 FE carries a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ZEISS telephoto lens with up to 100x zoom, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50 MP selfie camera. It’s available in stylish color options including Amber Yellow, Forest Blue, and Luxe Grey.

On the battery front, it offers a generous 6,500 mAh capacity, along with 90 W fast charging, promising fast top-ups and all-day use.

Pricing & Availability

The Vivo X Fold 5 is priced at ₹1,49,999 for the 16GB + 512GB variant. Pre-orders are now open, and sales begin on July 30.

The Vivo X200 FE starts at ₹54,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model, while the 16GB + 512GB version is priced at ₹59,999. Sales kick off from July 23.
