Samsung just pulled the wraps off its latest foldable phone — the Galaxy Z Flip 7 — and it’s shaping up to be a solid upgrade over the previous model. Launched at a global event on Wednesday, the Flip 7 made its debut alongside the bigger Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the more budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. It also becomes one of the first phones from Samsung to come with Android 16-based One UI 8 right out of the box.
Sleek Design, Bigger Cover Screen
One of the first things you’ll notice is the redesigned 4.1-inch edge-to-edge Super AMOLED cover display, which is much more usable than the smaller screen on the Flip 6. The main display inside is still a stunning 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Whether you’re indoors or out in bright sunlight, the visuals are crisp and vibrant. Plus, the outer display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, adding an extra layer of durability.
In terms of dimensions, the phone is just 6.5mm thick when open and folds down to 13.7mm, weighing only 188 grams. That makes it thinner and lighter than its predecessor, which is a big win for portability.
Performance Backed by Exynos 2500
Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is powered by Samsung’s latest 3nm Exynos 2500 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. This means faster performance, better energy efficiency, and enough power to handle pretty much anything you throw at it.
Cameras Get Smarter with AI
On the camera front, there’s a 50MP primary sensor with 2x optical-quality zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, you get a 10MP front camera tucked neatly into the inner display.
What really stands out, though, is the new ProVisual Engine, which brings AI-powered photography and editing tools to the table. Whether you’re capturing photos or tweaking them later, the AI helps make your shots look better with less effort. Other smart features include Transcript Assist, Note Assist, Call Assist, and Live Translation, not to mention Google’s Circle to Search and Gemini integration built right in.

Durable Build, Smarter Software
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 packs a 4,300mAh battery and features Samsung’s newly designed Armour FlexHinge, built to withstand thousands of folds. Its body is made of Armour Aluminium, and the phone comes with an IP48 rating, giving it strong protection against dust and water splashes.
On the software side, there are a few thoughtful additions like the Now Bar, a floating widget for quick access to notifications and media controls, and Now Brief, which offers daily summaries straight on the cover screen — no need to flip the phone open.
India Pricing and Colour Options
Samsung is offering the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in four colours:
Blue Shadow
Coral Red
Jet Black
Mint (exclusive to Samsung India’s official site)
As for pricing, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 starts at ₹1,09,999. The premium Galaxy Z Fold 7 is priced from ₹1,74,999, while the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE comes in at ₹89,999.
Pre-orders began on July 9, and the phones will hit stores across India starting July 25.
