While we still miss LG's super innovative smartphones, the company has been doing great in other product segments. Be it their webOS-powered smart TVs or other home appliances, LG is still a name to be reckoned with in the Indian electronics space. Now, the brand is back to create a buzz, quite literally.

Amongst the many things, LG makes a couple of great audio products. The speaker catalogue has been lying dormant for a while and now, LG has decided to refresh it ahead of the holiday season. The XBOOM speaker family welcomes three new models, with all of them catering to consumers seeking different types and sizes.

The new XBOOM speakers are expected to take on competing products from rival brands like Sony, JBL and the new-for-India Beats.

Let's take a quick look into what these speakers have to offer.

LG XBOOM GO XG2T

Despite the onslaught of TWS earbuds, the demand for portable wireless speakers remains and LG is determined to grab a share of the pie. The XBOOM GO XG2T (quite a mouthful for a name) is a small palm-sized wireless speaker designed for the outdoors. Among its many features, LG highlights its military-grade durability as one of the key selling points.

The MIL-STD 810H and IP67 certifications suggest that the XBOOM GO XG2T speaker can survive dust, rain and other weather elements. The hard-press buttons allow for power and basic playback controls. There's even a rotary dial for adjusting the volume. The speaker is rated with an output of 5W, with LG claiming decent bass effects from such a small driver. Since it is meant to be outdoorsy, the GO XG2T speaker promises to offer up to 10 hours of battery life on a full charge. Users can also pair two of these for a stereo-party experience.

At a price of INR 4,990, the XBOOM GO XG2T is a decent choice for travellers and everyone else on the move.

LG XBOOM XL9T

The LG XBOOM XL9T is a proper party speaker that could blow the roof off (figuratively, not literally!).

With 1000W of rated output, this one is designed to be quite useful for a mini concert. The dual 8-inch woofers promise truckloads of bass while the two 3-inch tweeters offer ample grunt for highs and mid frequencies. The XL9T's party piece is its beautiful LED light setup that can put up a great light show once it goes dark. The pixel-art LEDs allow for custom text to be displayed whereas the other stroble and accent lights add to the feel. While the on-board buttons and knobs allow for managing playback and volume, LG's companion app offers the convenience of quickly accessing the basic controls easily. The speaker is IPX4 certified to be splashproof.

Perfect for those pool parties, isn't it? Sadly, the exorbitant price of INR 64,990 may not make it ideal to be the life of everyone's party.

LG XO2TBK

If you don't like the in-your-face party vibes of the XL9T and the XBOOM GO XG2T speakers, LG has something for you. Meet the LG XO2TBK (a confusing name, again), a home speaker that cares for elegant aesthetics in upmarket lifestyles.

The XO2TBK wants to offer a premium listening experience with its 360-degree lighting and sound. The 20W omnidirectional speaker promises a wide soundstage that lays equal emphasis on highs, mids and low-end bass. The mood lighting, which can be configured via the companion app, helps add to the mood (what else were you expecting) and the IP55 certification makes it suitable for occasional poolside musical sessions.

What's even more impressive is the 15-hour battery life! You do need to dial down the mood lighting usage though.

The LG XO2TBK is available at a price of INR 12,989.
