Korean smartphone maker, Samsung updated its portfolio of foldable smartphones with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in July this year. However, it seems that there will be a third foldable smartphone that will be launching soon. The rumour mills are currently flooded with images of an upcoming Samsung Galaxy X Fold smartphone, possibly the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim or Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. As of now, there has been no official statement from Samsung. Here is everything we know about it.

Samsung Galaxy Fold Special Edition Design

Android Headlines shared leaked renders, which show the phone with sharp edges and an aluminium brushed finish on the back. While there’s no information yet about the bezels, the back panel will have a glass finish for a premium look and will feature a triple camera setup with a circular LED flash. The antenna cut-out at the bottom left is also visible in the images. This upcoming model is expected to be slimmer than the standard Z Fold 6, with the Special Edition possibly measuring 10.6 mm thick when folded and 4.9 mm thick when unfolded. In comparison, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 12.1 mm thick when folded and 5.6 mm thick when unfolded.

The images show rounded corners, similar to the most awaited Galaxy S25 Ultra, and less rounded than Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. When folded, the volume rockers and power button will be positioned on the right side of the frame, with the overall finish of the body and buttons appearing metallic. The outer display will feature a centre-aligned punch-hole front-facing camera. However, the render does not provide details about the inner display, the inner camera, or the fingerprint hardware.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Fold Special Edition Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has recently been certified in South Korea and will reportedly feature a 200MP primary camera paired with two other cameras. The smartphone is expected to have an 8-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch cover display, both slightly larger than the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6, which has a 6.3-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch main display.

The Fold SE is rumoured to be launched exclusively in China and South Korea, but we are still awaiting a confirmed launch date and further details. It was expected to release on September 25 in South Korea however, the event saw the launch of Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 Series only.
