Barbie Who? This Motorola Razr In Paris Pink Is Hot!

The Motorola Razr and Paris Hilton are two names synonymous with the Y2K era. Specific to the Razr, Motorola collaborated with the Hollywood personality back in the heydays to create a special ‘hot pink’ version of the Razr, adding a touch of glamour to the fashionable flip phone. 

Two decades later, Motorola is back to making the Razr and has established itself as the more fashionable alternative to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip and every other Chinese-origin flip phone. Hence, it only makes sense for the Razr to celebrate the style icons and present itself as the choice for those with a discerning taste in fashion and lifestyle. And who better to associate with instead of Paris Hilton?

Motorola and Paris Hilton have teamed up again to create a one-off version of the current generation Razr, called the Motorola Razr Paris Hilton Edition. The catch? This Paris Hilton-endorsed version of the Razr is dressed in the same hot pink as the OG Moto Razr v3 Paris Hilton edition.

What’s so special about the Motorola Razr Paris Hilton Edition?

 Special edition phones these days are all about the aesthetic pleasures and Paris Hilton’s Razr is no different! After all, Hilton says that the “Razr has and will be her go-to accessory!” Since pink is endorsed by the American pop star, Motorola went for a bright shade of pink as the sole colourway for this Razr. The colour looks a lot similar to the pink edition of the Razr from last year but it’s not got Paris Hilton’s signature on its back! When flipped shut, the hinge proudly flaunts the ‘That Hot’ tagline. 

The packaging itself is special. The box is draped in pink, showcasing a fashion-centric Paris Hilton on the top instead of the Razr. The accessories package includes a unique protective case that resembles a Y2K fashion-centric handbag (it’s pink, obviously!). You also get a pretty lanyard cable that’s covered in pink!

On the software side of things, this Razr offers a couple of Paris Hilton wallpapers for both the main screen and the cover screen. There are four custom ringtones in Paris’ voice as well.  

Is it still a practical flip phone?

Thankfully, yes! The Paris Hilton edition of the Razr is essentially the fully loaded Razr+ – a phone that India knows as the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra. This means you get the same eager Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM, 256 GB UFS 4.0 storage, Android 14 as the operating system, a 4,000 mAh battery with 45 W wired and 15 W wireless charging, two 50-megapixel cameras on the front (or back) and Google’s Gemini baked in. 

But does anybody care about all this when the essence of this phone is to be a style statement? After all, it’s about going pink this summer! Not Barbie pink but Paris Pink!

Is this Paris Hilton number coming to India?

 No words on that front yet! Motorola is currently reserving limited units for its American audience and there might be a possibility to bring this special edition phone to India later in the year.
