HMD has launched its mid-range smartphone Skyline in India with a dedicated customisable button, though we cannot say it is inspired by the iPhone 16, as HMD launched the device in the domestic market on 19 July 2024. HMD Skyline Specifications
HMD is making repairable devices for users by partnering with iFixit. The HMD Skyline comes with an easily replaceable back door, screen, and battery. The device weighs 209.5g, with both the front and back panels made of glass. HMD Skyline is IP54 rated for dust and splash protection.
On the front, it sports a 6.55-inch OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, a 1080 x 2400 resolution, HDR 10, and 1000 nits peak brightness. All this is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The HMD Skyline is powered by a 4nm based Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 octa-core processor paired with an Adreno 710 GPU. The device runs on Android 14, and the company has promised up to two years of major Android upgrades.
Under the rear hood, it has a 4600mAh non-removable battery that supports 33W wired, 15W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging.
The device comes with a triple camera setup, consisting of a 108MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. On the front, it features a 50MP selfie shooter with 4K at 30fps video recording and Auto Focus support, the front camera also supports face unlock feature.
