Google Pixel 9 Series, Pixel 9 Pro Fold Launched in India

The Google Pixel 9 Series has launched in India alongside the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Google launched the Pixel smartphones before the annual iPhone release for the first time in eight years. The Android maker launched a slew of Gemini AI features, Magic Editor, Pixel 9 Series, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Watch 3.

Pixel 9

The Pixel 9 is powered by Google's in-house Tensor G4 chipset and Titan M2 security processor that is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device flaunts a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2700 nits of peak brightness and is protected with a Gorilla Glass Victus 2. On the rear, it features a dual camera setup with a 50MP Samsung GNK sensor with OIS support and 48MP Sony IMX858 ultrawide with macro sensor. On the front, it has a 42MP selfie camera. It features a 4,700mAh battery unit and offers 27W wired and 15W wireless charging. The Pixel 9 is running on Android 14 and will receive 7 years of security updates.

Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL

The Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are very similar to each other except for the battery capacity and display size. A Tensor G4 SoC powers both phones and is paired with a 16GB RAM version. The Pro model features a 4700 mAh battery, and the XL model comes with a 5060 mAh battery. The Pixel 9 Pro has a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display, and the XL model comes with a 6.8-inch 24-bit LTPO OLED display. Both models have a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120 Hz. Google has updated the Pixel 9 Pro to include a triple rear setup with 50MP wide and 48MP telephoto lens and 48MP ultrawide sensor. 

Pixel 9 Pro Fold

Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes with a fluid-friction hinge that easily opens the device screen to 180 degrees. It sports a 6.3-inch cover and an 8-inch Super Actua Flex inner display. Google says it is "the largest display ever on a phone." Both are AMOLED display, feature 120Hz of LTPO refresh rate and support 2700 nits of peak brightness. It comes with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, as well as an IPX8 rating for water resistance only. The same G4 Tensor chip, with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage, powers the Fold 9 Pro. In terms of optics, it sports a 48 MP wide camera, 10.5 MP ultrawide lens, and 10.8 MP telephoto sensor with 5X optical zoom. Google has shipped a 4,560mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
