Skoda Auto India has introduced a new entry-level Lounge variant in the Kodiaq range. Priced at Rs. 39.99 lakh, this version is designed for buyers who want a more affordable entry point into the Kodiaq family, without losing out on core comfort and safety features. The new trim also introduces a five-seat layout, with colour choices limited to Moon White, Magic Black, and Graphite Grey.

Fresh Yet Familiar Design

On the outside, the Skoda Kodiaq Right Front Three Quarter profile looks as sharp and premium as ever. The SUV comes fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels and matte dark chrome inserts that give it a clean but stylish edge. The addition of all-LED lighting, roof rails, and a panoramic sunroof make the Lounge look well-rounded, balancing practicality with a sense of luxury.

Cabin Experience and Features

Step inside and the Skoda Kodiaq Dashboard reflects a blend of modern tech and subtle luxury. The cabin is finished in Grey Suedia fabric upholstery, which feels premium yet understated. Tech enthusiasts will appreciate the 10.25-inch virtual cockpit and the 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless phone mirroring. Everyday convenience is taken care of with features like a wireless charger, rear sun blinds, smart dials, and multiple USB-C charging slots.

In terms of safety and driver assistance, the Lounge trim doesn’t compromise. It comes with nine airbags, along with a comprehensive package of systems including ABS, EBD, ESC, MSR, ASR, EDL, HBA, DSR, RBS, ESBS, MCB, HSA, and HDC. Comfort isn’t left behind either, thanks to three-zone climate control, cruise control, and selectable drive modes.

What’s Missing in the Lounge Trim

Being positioned as the entry-level option, the Lounge does skip out on a few premium touches seen in higher trims. There’s no driver drowsiness detection, illuminated grille, virtual pedal for the electric tailgate, 360-degree camera, intelligent park assist, or the Canton music system. These omissions make it slightly more basic compared to the Sportline and L&K variants, but the essentials are still firmly in place.

Pricing Across Variants

  • Kodiaq Lounge: Rs. 39.99 lakh

  • Kodiaq Sportline: Rs. 43.76 lakh

  • Kodiaq L&K: Rs. 45.96 lakh

The new Lounge variant seems aimed at buyers who want the Kodiaq’s big SUV feel and strong feature set but are willing to let go of some top-end luxuries for a more approachable price. With its balanced mix of comfort, safety, and practicality, it opens the Kodiaq range to a wider audience without compromising too much on what makes the SUV desirable in the first place.
