There are some days when a market becomes merrier. Having said that, it gets exciting to see big smartphone brands providing new and flagship technologies at reasonable prices. One of the devices that packs everything is the new Moto Edge 50 Pro or the Motorola Edge 50 Pro.

This time Motorola has incorporated a pure sense of fashion into technology; not only the AI feature of the Moto Edge 50 Pro but also the colour of the smartphone looks eye-catching. Moto has launched the product at the same price as the Moto Edge 40.

Moto has collaborated with Pantone to display real-life colours on this phone's screen. For those who don't know what Pantone is, it is a USA-based brand, known for its colour-matching system.

So, below are the top reasons why the Moto Edge 50 Pro is a no-brainer deal, priced at Rs 31,999, catering to mid-range buyers. It is worth mentioning that this article contains some personal opinions as we tested this phone at the launch event.

Here are the top 5 reasons to buy the Moto Edge 50 Pro

1. Battery and Charging: Great power must come with great battery life. The Moto Edge 50 Pro has a 4500 mAh battery, which can keep your phone in active mode for around 10 hours. If you run out of battery, you can easily charge your phone with a 50W wireless or 125W wired charger.

2.  Powerful Processor: The Moto Edge 50 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 7 Gen, so you don’t need to worry about daily life performance, media consumption, or gaming performance. The new chipset is almost identical to the Snapdragon 888 in terms of performance and is 1nm (nanometre) smaller than the Snapdragon 888. The Moto Edge 50 Pro comes with UFS 2.2.

3. Build and Design: The phone looks phenomenal and feels sturdy, at the same time. The frame is made of aluminium and has a leather finish at the back. The phone's IP 68 rating means it can handle normal water splashes, but the catch is that you can’t use the phone underwater because of unresponsive touch; even touch doesn't respond well with a wet hand.

4. AI-injected cameras: It comes with a 50MP main camera with f1.4 aperture, one 10MP telephoto camera that can go as far as 3X mechanically and 30X digitally, and a 13MP rear ultrawide lens. This device also has the ability to capture macro shots with the same sensor.

Moto has advertised that it is the first AI camera phone in this segment, and in my test, I found that AI features work surprisingly well with exposure adjustment and stabilization. For instance, if you mistakenly capture a photo in overexposure mode, the AI will correct it in post-processing. In the case of video, first of all, you need to shoot at FHD only to get impressive stabilization, and second, you need a well-lit area; in low light, you can easily notice jitters.

The rear 50MP main camera and 10MP telephoto come with OIS; you get amazing night shots because of the low f1.4 aperture.

On the front, you get a 50MP camera, capable of shooting 4K videos. The brand has claimed that you get Pantone colours even in cameras, but the colour difference was noticeable in my test.

5. Software: Now, Moto has introduced the ‘Hello UI,’ which is based on Android 14. The brand has provided software support for 3 years.
