The Tata Curvv is nearing to enter the production-spec stage, which will launch very soon. After the official unveiling of the Curvv, this upcoming Coupe SUV was recently spotted undisguised on the Indian tarmac.

The captured undisguised test mule was the internal combustion engine or ICE version. The bodywork was done in Daytona Grey, an optional colour on other Tata cars.

The Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors will initially declare the prices of the Curvv EV on August 7, 2024, followed by the ICE variant sometime later.

Offerings

As we mentioned before, this Coupe SUV houses split LED headlights, an imposing front bumper, squared wheel arches, flush door handles, connected LED taillamps, silver-finished faux skid plates, chrome-finished Curvv logo, and petal-shaped alloy wheels.

The spy shots or any other image of the Tata Curvv’s interior remains to be seen. However, industry reports speculate that this homegrown SUV will have a similar dashboard layout as the Tata Nexon and with some distinctive design elements.

Further, the expected features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, a twp-spoke multi-function steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, a cooled glove box, and a panoramic sunroof, to name a few.

This vehicle is deemed to have safety features like a 360-degree camera, a blind spot monitor, multiple airbags, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control, hill descent control, and ADAS, among others.

Specifications

The powertrains are yet to be declared. However, we expect the Curvv SUV to offer two engine options: a 1.2-litre GDi turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine. The latter produces 113bhp and 260Nm of peak torque, while the former produces 123bhp and 225Nm of torque.

The transmission options may include a six-speed manual, a six-speed AT, and a seven-speed DCT gearbox.

The electric version of the Tata Curvv, on the other hand, is expected to be offered in two variants: Standard Range and Long Range. No other details are available yet. However, the electric version is claimed to deliver a range of 500km+ on a single charge.

Marketing

Tata Motors will position the Curvv Coupe SUV above the Tata Nexon (sub-4m). Once launched, it will have a similar pricing to the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Toyota Hyryder, MG ZS EV, Creta EV, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, to name a few.
