Tata Motors has added two more higher-spec variants of the Tata Altroz in India. The added variants are the XZ LUX and XZ+S LUX. The former carries a price tag of Rs 9 lakh, while the latter has a price tag of Rs 9.65 lakh.
Both are ex-showroom figures. Additionally, both variants are available in petrol-manual, petrol-DCT, diesel-MT, and CNG-MT versions.
In parallel, the Indian automobile manufacturer has also updated the top-spec XZ+ OS variant. This variant now carries a revised ex-showroom price of Rs 9.99 lakh.
The XZ+ OS variant is now equipped with Tata’s iRA-connected car technology and an air purifier system. Other features onboard include auto HVAC, rear AC vents, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic headlamps. Further, this variant is offered in the petrol version only.
Tata Altroz: Powertrain
As for the Tata Altroz’s powertrain, this hatchback is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally-aspirated (NA) petrol engine, which is tuned to churn out 87bhp and 115Nm of peak torque. In addition, the Tata Altroz CNG has a lower state of tune, which has an output of 77bhp and 103Nm of torque.
Another option is a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 89bhp and an impressive 200Nm of peak torque.
It is also worth noting that after the launch of the Tata Altroz Racer, the company no longer offers a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which was earlier exclusive to the Altroz’s i-Turbo variant of the standard iteration. That said, this engine now exclusively powers the Altroz Racer which produces 118bhp and 170Nm of peak torque. This iteration powers the front wheels via the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the standard version has both five-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
Tata Altroz: Pricing
In terms of figures, the Tata Altroz has a starting price of Rs 6.65 lakh for the base variant, the XE Petrol MT, and goes up to Rs 10.80 lakh for the top variant, the XZ+ S Dark Edition Diesel MT.
On the other hand, the Tata Altroz Racer’s price starts at Rs 9.49 lakh for the base variant, the R1 Petrol MT, and goes up to Rs 10.99 lakh for the top variant, the R3 Petrol MT.
