New Generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire Spotted Testing; Check Details

After the launch of the fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback, the Indo-Japanese automaker is now bringing the new iteration of the Dzire. As seen in the past, the Dzire sedan is essentially a stretched version of the Swift hatchback with identical headlights. 

The same pattern is deemed to be continued with the upcoming Dzire sub-four-metre sedan. This iteration was spotted in Pune, Maharashtra. 

Exterior

As mentioned earlier and considering the past pattern, the new Dzire is likely to receive the same set of LED headlights as the Maruti Suzuki Swift. We also expect this sedan will borrow some design elements from its smaller sibling. 

But, several reports suggest that it will have a more premium-looking lighting setup. That said, the new front lights will have LED reflector barrels on top, paired with a centrally-mounted LED DRL. The front bumper’s lower section will have halogen turn indicators. 

Further, the new generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire is deemed to have distinctive styling cues, which are likely to be seen on the front grille, bonnet and bumpers (front and rear).

The rear end of the new sedan is likely to use the C-shaped LED taillamps as the 2024 Swift. 

The side profile is also expected to be distinguishable, as it is deemed to receive a new set of alloy wheels.  

Besides that, the images of the new Dzire depict the ORVMs-mounted cameras. The addition indicates the presence of a 360-degree camera. The new Swift, however, lacks this feature. 

Features

While reportedly having a slightly different interior, the new Dzire is speculated to have exclusive features. That said, it could get a heads-up display (HUD). 

Other expected offerings include an ARKAMYS-souced audio system, rain-sensing wipers, a wireless charger, auto headlamps, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless- Android Auto and -Apple CarPlay. 

Maruti Suzuki might equip the new sub-4m sedan with a telescopic steering adjustment, voice commands, reverse parking sensors, connected car technology, hill hold assist, ESC, 6 airbags, and reverse parking sensors, among others. 

Other Offerings

The new generation of the 2024 Dzire is deemed to use the same engine as the new 4th-generation Swift hatchback. That said, it is likely to house the new 1.2-litre Z-series (Z12E) naturally-aspirated 0petrol engine, which is tuned to produce 80.46bhp at 5700rpm and 111.7Nm of peak torque at 4300rpm.  

For reference, the new Swift’s mileage ranges between 24.80kmpl and 25.75kmpl, depending on the engine and transmission combination. Those are ARAI-claimed figures. Similar figures can be expected from the new generation Dzire.

The CNG version of the Dzire, paired with the aforementioned petrol engine can be expected too. 

As for the launch, there is no official teaser or announcement from Maruti Suzuki, but we expect the vehicle to arrive later this year or early next year.
