Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has finally launched the fourth generation Swift in India, available at a starting price of Rs 6.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The top variant, ZXi+ AT has an ex-showroom price of Rs 9.65 lakh.
This generation of the Swift will be manufactured at the Suzuki Motor Gujarat plant for domestic and export markets.
Interestingly, buyers can also take home this new Maruti Suzuki Swift by paying only Rs 17,436 per month via the Maruti Suzuki’s Subscription program. The advantage of this program is that there are no down payments required, plus maintenance, insurance and other costs are already included in that monthly payment.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Features
The new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift has a newly laid-out cabin with numerous features, which take care of comfort, convenience and safety departments. The revamped interior has a modern design language, which resembles the new-age Maruti cars like the Baleno, Fronx and Brezza.
The exterior of the new Swift has LED lights at the front and rear. The front end has a clamshell bonnet with a revamped gloss-finished grille, flanked by LED projector headlamps, consisting of L-shaped LED DRLs. The rear end has a revamped bumper and revised tail lamps in C-shape. Further, this vehicle has also received a new set of 15-inch alloy wheels.
The Swift’s interior features include an Arkamys-sourced sound system, Type-C charging ports, auto HVAC, rear A/c vents, a wireless charger, and a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment unit, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Behind the leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, there is an analogue instrument cluster with an integrated 4.2-inch MID unit. This vehicle also has a connected car technology. The 40-connected car features can be accessed via the Suzuki Connect application.
Furthermore, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift now has a stronger build quality. Its shell is now made of 45% of high tensile steel and 20% ultra-high tensile steel. In fact, the fourth-gen Suzuki Swift secured a four-star safety rating in the Japan NCAP crash test.
On the safety front, the fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift has six airbags as standard, across its variants. Besides that, this homegrown hatchback packs a three-point seatbelt, hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), and so on.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Specifications
The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift has everything new. That said, it stands on a new suspension setup, alongside a new hydraulic clutch release. Powering this new hatchback is the new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated (NA) Z12E petrol unit, which is tuned to churn out 80.46bhp at 5700rpm and 111.7Nm of peak torque at 4300rpm. For reference, the old Suzuki Swift was powered by a K-series engine, which produced 88bhp and 113Nm of torque.
The CNG version of this new generation Swift is also anticipated to arrive.
The 2024 Swift, however, is available with a standard five-speed manual and a five-speed (AMT) automatic unit.
As for fuel economy, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift’s mileage ranges between 24.8km/l and 25.75km/l, depending on the transmission type.

The 2024 fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift is offered in five variants: LXi, VXi, VXi(O), ZXi, and ZXi+.
This hatchback has a starting price of Rs 6.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.64 lakh. These are introductory ex-showroom figures, as of May 2024, and are subject to change without prior notice.
Further, this vehicle is offered in six monotone colours and three dual-tone colour options: Sizzling Red, Luster Blue, Novel Orange, Magma Grey, Splendid Silver, Pearl Arctic White, Sizzling Red with Midnight Black roof, Luster Blue with Midnight Black roof, and Pearl Arctic White with Midnight Black roof.
