We have very interesting news for mileage-conscious people. It is about the recently launched 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift. Maruti Suzuki is all set to introduce the CNG variant of this car. This upcoming vehicle is expected to be even more efficient than the current petrol variant.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift has received a visual overhaul and a brand-new 1.2-litre petrol engine named Z12E. This is a three-cylinder engine and produces 82hp and 112Nm. The petrol-powered version is available with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

Most Maruti Suzuki cars already have CNG fuel options and the Swift is also likely to follow their path soon. The Swift will also become the first vehicle to come with a CNG fuel variant with the new Z12E engine. Unlike the petrol-powered counterpart, the CNG Swift is expected to be available only with manual transmission.

The new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is priced between Rs 6.49 lakh to 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom). It is not clear yet which variants of the car will be available in CNG but a premium of Rs 90,000 to 95,000 can be expected over the petrol variant.

The mileage of the car is the biggest question. For your reference, the Swift Petrol is claimed to return 24.80 kmpl with a manual transmission, and 25.75 kmpl with an AMT gearbox. The Swift CNG might offer about 32km/kg, and like always, it is expected to be limited to the five-speed manual transmission.

After its launch, Swift CNG will take the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG and Tata Tiago CNG.
