New aerial spy shots of the Mahindra BE.05 have created a buzz on the internet, as one of the surfaced images has shown a huge panoramic glass sunroof or most likely a moonroof.
With its glass-based top panel, the Mahindra BE.05 Coupe SUV is indicated to be a strong competitor of the Tata Curvv EV. Another vehicle in this segment includes the Citroen Basalt, but this vehicle doesn’t have a panoramic glass roof.
In parallel, these vehicles will also face heat from the MG ZS EV, the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and the Maruti Suzuki eVX SUV.
Highlights
Based on past spy shots, the electric Mahindra BE.05 Coupe SUV is deemed to have a majority of the design cues as its concept version, including the C-shaped LED headlamps. Other exterior offerings are likely to comprise flush door handles, a charging socket on the rear left quarter panel, aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, low profile tyres, a distinctive tailgate with integrated rear spoiler, and all-four disc brakes.
The Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra hasn’t announced details as they are kept embargoed, but the BE.05 is speculated to have a long list of features and a plush cabin. As we reported earlier, the BE.05 Coupe EV will have a twin-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, an illuminated ‘BE’ logo (as seen on Tata cars), and white-lit buttons on either side to control the fully digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment unit.
Further, it will have a dual-screen layout atop the dashboard and these units will be supported by an EV-specific user interface (UI). Other expected features include ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable seats, drive modes, advanced internet, telematics, and ADAS.
On the specifications front, the homegrown Mahindra BE.05 electric coupe SUV will be based on the INGLO architecture, and this platform will underpin the future XUV.e- and BE-branded electric vehicles, including SUVs. The industry reports indicate that the BE.05 electric vehicle will house a 60kWh battery pack, which is likely to return a range of up to 450 kilometres on a single charge.
In addition to that, Mahindra might give the standard two-wheel-drive setup and optional all-wheel-drive setup to the higher-spec iterations.
Lastly, this vehicle is expected to mark its India debut around the second half of 2025, especially during the festive season.
