Someone from Kia Motors was spotted driving the facelifted version of the Carens, but it was driven with a wrapped body for camouflage. The Kia Carens facelift is expected to arrive on our shores by next year in 2025. Since it’s a facelift, patrons can expect a refreshed design, including tweaked bumpers, headlights, taillights, and alloy wheels.

As the title says, the refreshed iteration was spotted testing in its homeland in South Korea.

Moreover, only exterior images are circulating on the internet, but the images of its interior are yet to be seen. As per some reliable sources, the updated Carens is expected to have a panoramic sunroof, revamped HVAC panel, and new upholstery, to name a few.

It is worth noting that the model shown is the Korean-spec Kia Carens, therefore the Indian-spec may differ.

Kia Carens Facelift: Mechanicals

Kia India is expected to retain the engine options of the Carens facelift. Currently, the pre-facelift Carens (currently on sale) has three powertrain options: 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated (NA) petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel.

The naturally-aspirated petrol unit is tuned to churn out 113.42bhp at 6300rpm and 144Nm of peak torque at 4500rpm, while the turbocharged petrol engine produces 157.81bhp at 5500rpm and 253Nm of torque between 1500-3500rpm. Lastly, the turbo-diesel engine generates 114.41bhp at 4000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1500-2750rpm.

The transmission options include a six-speed gearbox (manual and iMT) and a seven-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) unit.

The same powertrain options are expected on the upcoming Kia Carens.

It is also worth mentioning that the Kia Carens EV will arrive on our shores by next year.

Kia Carens Facelift: Features

The Kia Carens facelift will carry over the features from the ongoing pre-facelifted Carens. The upcoming MPV is also expected to boast a Level-2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera, as far as safety is concerned. We are confident that this vehicle will receive those two safety features because some mass-market Kia cars in India, which are positioned below the Carens also have those features.

The current version, however, has a tyre pressure monitoring system, six airbags (standard), front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, a single-pane sunroof, and a wireless charger, to name a few. Further, this MUV also has a dual-screen display, comprising a touchscreen infotainment unit and digital instrument cluster; both measure 10.25 inches.

Overall, the Kia Carens is a fully-loaded vehicle, in terms of features.

Kia Carens Facelift: Expected Launch

As per some reports, the Kia Carens facelift is expected to land on our shores by next year in 2025. Once launched, this Korean MUV will command a slight premium over the ongoing version.

Currently, the Kia Carens has a starting price of Rs 10.52 lakh for the base variant, Premium Petrol MT, which goes all the way up to Rs 19.67 lakh for the top variant, X-Line Diesel AT 6 STR.

All are ex-showroom figures, as of May 2024. This vehicle comes in six and seven-seater layouts.
