Ultraviolette has sent a ‘Shockwave’ down the two-wheeler industry, and it seems they have harnessed the power of the Tesseract! That was a good pun, wasn’t it?
Excusing our references to Marvel Comics, these two-wheelers seem like the work of a supernatural entity as mighty as the Tesseract. The Shockwave is exactly what off-road and enduro enthusiasts have been asking from the two-wheeler industry ever since emission norms have become a matter of concern. It’s not going to challenge the Royal Enfield Himalayan anytime soon but Ultraviolette may have a weapon to get inroads into the world of motocross with this one.
As for the Tesseract, it enters a highly crowded and contested space with a unique proposition – offering a blend of practicality and fun.
Both products will be available from early 2026 and to draw interest, Ultraviolette is offering lower prices for the initial batches. Prices will go up eventually and compete with the premium offerings from other manufacturers. Watch out Ola Electric and Ather!

What’s up with the Tesseract?
The Tesseract is essentially a premium electric scooter prioritising performance and advanced features expected to be useful in the real world. Headline features include:
- a maximum claimed range of 261 km
- 20 hp of peak power
- a top speed of 125 kph
- 20-80 per cent charging in less than 30 minutes
Note that these figures are applicable for the top-end Tesseract 6. The entry-level Tesseract 3.5 with the 3.5 kWh battery pack promises a range of 162 km. The mid-spec Tesseract 5 with a 5 kWh battery pack offers a range of 220 km. Although the starting price is set at INR 1.2 lakh ex-showroom, the price will be bumped to 1.45 lakh ex-showroom.
As far as the features are concerned, the Tesseract features front and rear radar units that combine to create a 360-degree spatial awareness for the rider. The mirrors feature blind spot awareness and the front-mounted dashcam analyses the road conditions to optimise the ride quality (that’s what Ultraviolette says!). It also records your rides, if that’s your thing. Goodbye action cameras?
Rider conveniences include a 7-inch TFT display with support for map-based navigation, a dedicated spot for wireless phone charging and a large 34-litre storage space.
And lastly, the scooter looks smashing! Even the TVS X looks sane in comparison!

Will the Shockwave impact the industry?
Priced at INR 1.5 lakh for the first 1,000 customers, the Shockwave looks like a mean machine for off-road enthusiasts. It makes 14.5 hp at the wheel and comes with a maximum rated torque of 505 Nm – figures that seem too good to be true!
With a kerb weight of 120 kg, the Shockwave is fairly lightweight for an electric motorcycle. Despite hardcore off-road friendly tyres and an undisclosed yet high ground clearance, the Shockwave is rated to do a top speed of 120 kph! That’s as fast as a petrol-guzzling Royal Enfield Classic 350! Off-road bikes are usually not suited for top speeds measured in triple digits!
Sadly, the rest of the specs and figures are still under the wraps.
Will Ultraviolette’s performance credentials help it establish itself in crowded premium electric two-wheeler space? We can only wait to find out!
