Citroen Basalt Turbo Variant Starts from Rs 11.49 Lakh; Details Here

As we reported earlier, Citroen India will announce the full price list of the Citroen Basalt variants. So now, they have also rolled out the price of the turbo variants. This Coupe SUV is available in both petrol and turbo-petrol variants.

The French automaker confirms that the deliveries of the Basalt will commence from the first week of September. In addition, this vehicle’s counterpart, the combustion-engine-based Tata Curvv’s price list will also be out on September 2, 2024.

Overview

The Basalt SUV uses the same engines as the C3 hatchback. The options comprise a 1.2-litre Puretech 82 naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 80bhp at 5750rpm and 115Nm of peak torque at 3750rpm. 

Another option includes a 1.2-litre Puretech 110 turbo-petrol engine, which produces 109bhp at 5500rpm and 190Nm of torque at 1750rpm. This engine increases the torque to 205Nm if combined with the automatic transmission. 

The naturally-aspirated engine is limited to a 5-speed manual, while the turbo-petrol engine is available in both six-speed- manual and -automatic transmissions. 

The 2024 Citroen Basalt’s mileage ranges between 18kmpl and 19.5kmpl, depending on the engine and transmission combination. 

As far as the features go, this vehicle is equipped with LED lights with LED DRLs, LED tail lights, alloy wheels, front fog lamps, etc. Inside, it houses a 10.23-inch touchscreen infotainment unit (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), a fully digital instrument cluster, and a wireless phone charger, to name a few.

For safety, it has telematics, an SOS button, RSA, 6 airbags, anti-glare IRVM, child-safety locks, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a rear camera with guidelines, ISOFIX child-seat anchorages, etc. It also has hill assist, ABS with EBD, speed-sensing door lock, Pretensioners and Force Limiter seatbelts (driver and co-driver), and brake assist, among others. 

Pricing

Citroen India sells the Basalt Coupe SUV in three broad trims: You, Plus, and Max. There are eight variants in total. 

This vehicle has a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh for the base-spec, You Petrol MT variant, and goes up to Rs 13.83 lakh for the top-spec Max Turbo variant.

This vehicle directly rivals the Tata Curvv Coupe SUV. However, similarly priced vehicles include the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder.
