BMW has added a new variant to one of their most popular SUVs, the X3, named BMW X3 xDrive 20d M Sport Shadow Edition. The car gets many cosmetic changes to the exterior and additions to the interior to distinguish the car from the standard variant.
BMW X3 xDrive 20d M Sport Shadow Edition: Design Changes and Additional Features
The has been built by making enhancements to the existing BMW X3 xDrive 20d M Sport. The front grille, bumper, roof rails, window surrounds and exhaust port are now finished in piano black, justifying the car’s 'Shadow' edition name. BMW offers this car in two colour options, Brooklyn Gray and Carbon Black.
The German SUV can further be customised by adding the Black edition package which includes a blacked-out M-spec rear spoiler, a side strip graphic and the M Sport logo on the front fender and the Carbon edition package which adds carbon fibre elements to the vehicle.
The biggest change in the interior is the dual-tone leather upholstery with mocha and black colour and blue accent stitching. Since this vehicle is based on the M Sport (not to be confused with M Competition), it gets an M-spec steering wheel and electric front seats with a memory function. Besides that, the vehicle is also equipped with features such as a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, 3-zone climate control, manual rear sunshades and a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon surround sound system.
The BMW X3 M Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo diesel burner which churns out 190hp and 400Nm. This power is put down to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car has a claimed top speed of 213kph and 0-100kph timing of 7.3 seconds. The vehicle also has a few standard features across the range to retain the signature BMW driving pleasure, such as adaptive air suspension and electronic differential lockers.
BMW X3 xDrive 20d M Sport Shadow Edition: Pricing
At the ex-showroom pricing of Rs 74.90 lakh, the car is priced at Rs 2 lakh premium over the standard X3 M Sport. This SUV continues to compete with the likes of Mercedes Benz GLC and Audi Q5.
