German automaker BMW has unveiled the BMW R20 concept. This motorcycle has been made by using the mighty BMW R18 as a base. The concept showcases a bold stance with a beefy boxer engine and a vibrant-looking fuel tank. Most design elements of the motorcycle suggest this is a roadster motorcycle.

The machine gets a 2000cc boxer engine, made by modifying the R18’s 1802cc engine. This new engine’s performance figures are yet to be known, however, the R18 produces 91hp and 157Nm, so we can expect this to churn out even bigger numbers considering the bump in the cubic capacity.

Attractive design components of the BMW R20 include a dual exhaust setup, an exposed driving shaft connecting the rear to the engine for propulsion, Öhlins suspension, and a chrome-molybdenum steel swingarm. Other design elements include a projector LED headlamp with BMW branding, seat-mounted tail lamps, leather and Alcantara-finished single seat, spoke wheels at the front, and more.

As per the brand, they have completely developed a new chassis for the R20 to suit its character. The chassis has been made using a double-loop main frame made using chrome molybdenum steel tubes. The rear wheel looks like a disc and is a thick 200/55 unit, whereas the front gets a spoke wheel for enhanced aesthetics and is wrapped in a 120/70 tyre.

Alexander Buckan, Head of Design at BMW Motorrad, says, “The R20 concept is a bold interpretation of the BMW Motorrad DNA. It combines modern technical elements with a classic roadster design. Its oversized proportions and minimalistic aesthetic make it an unmistakable character.”

Since this is a concept motorcycle, there is no concrete information regarding its production and launch date.
