German automobile manufacturer BMW has launched the BMW CE-04 electric scooter, the most expensive scooter with an unconventional design. The brand has already showcased this EV at several BMW events in India, including Joytown.

The conventional design of scooters typically features a curved design with curved body panels. In contrast, the BMW CE-04 boasts a notable flat design and long flat seat that eliminates any separation between the pillion and the rider. This urban-oriented scooter has a seat height of 780mm.

BMW CE 04 Specifications

A liquid-cooled electric motor with a battery capacity of 8.9kWh powers this scooter, producing 41.4bhp at 4,900rpm and 61Nm of torque at 5,100rpm. The claimed top speed of this scooter is 120 km/h. One full charge allows users to travel 130 km, while a full recharge takes 4 hours and 20 minutes.

Charging from 0 to 80 per cent takes 3 hours and 30 minutes with a normal charger, and with a rapid charger, users will be able to charge this German electric scooter in 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Other Offerings and Availability

The BMW CE 04 comes with a 10.2-inch TFT display, and you can connect your smartphone via Bluetooth, which translates to telematics. Through telematics, the owner can check the battery level, vehicle status, and upcoming service(s), to name a few.

It also has a USB-C charging port to charge your gadgets. The kerb weight of this scooter is 231kg and the size of the front disc and the rear disc measure 265mm and 256mm, respectively.

The scooter has 15-inch wheels on both ends. And, it has a telescopic fork installed at the front and a mono-shock suspension at the rear. The scooter is also equipped with a traction control system and ABS. Dynamic traction control and ABS Pro are, however, optional features. BMW has offered three ride modes in CE 4: Eco, Rain, and Road.

The bike is available for $12,125 in the USA. However, in our country, BMW India will position this all-electric scooter above the BMW C-400 GT, a fuel-based scooter.
