Ola Electric Roadster Bikes: All You Need to Know

On the 78th Indian Independence Day (2024), Ola Electric launched highly anticipated electric bikes. They introduced several services and the future mobility roadmap.

Ola Electric has officially launched the new Roadster series of e-motorcycles in the Indian market, built on the new third generation platform, which offers robustness and agility. The new line-up involved the Roadster, Roadster X, and Roadster Pro. 

The company has also teased two new motorcycles - the Sportster and Arrowhead, plus they showcased indigenously developed Bharat 4680 cells, battery packs, and the all-new Gen 3 platform.

Additionally, they announced new features, alongside a new MoveOS 5 software. 

Ola Scooters will introduce the new AI-based tire pressure monitoring system and the Krutrim AI assistant.

Ola Electric Roadster Lineup

1) Roadster Pro

Ola has given a street-naked deisgn language to the Roadster Pro, which looks aggressive.

It has two battery packs on offer: an 8kWh battery pack and a 16kWh battery pack. Former is priced at Rs 2 lakh, while the latter is priced at Rs 2.50 lakh. These are ex-showroom figures.

Ola plans to start delivering this electric bike by Diwali 2025, and interested patrons can make reservations from today. 

The vehicle's motor generates 52 kW of peak power and 105 Nm of torque. Its power figures make it the fastest and most efficient segment bike. The Roadster Pro delivers an impressive acceleration of 0-40 km/h in just 1.2 seconds.

It sports a 10-inch TFT touchscreen, upside-down forks, and two-channel switchable ABS, clubbed with disc brakes at the front and rear.

Riders will also get four riding modes (High, Sport, Normal, and Eco), and two DIY modes.

2) Roadster

The introductory price of the Ola Roadster is Rs 1,04,999 for the base-spec 2.5kWh variant, Rs 1,19,999 for the mid-spec 4.5kWh variant, and Rs 1,39,999 for the top-spec 6kWh variant. All are ex-showroom figures, as of August 2024. Deliveries will start from January 2025. 

This iteration has a peak power output of 13 kW. It can go from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2 seconds (6 kWh). 

This variant's top speed is 126 kmph, and it has a claimed range of 248 kilometres. 

The bike features four riding modes: Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco.

New MoveOS 5 software is integrated into the 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen and AI-powered features like Krutrim Assistant, a smartwatch app, and a trip planner. 

The bike gets disc brakes at the front and rear with advanced single-channel ABS, sophisticated cornering ABS, and brake-by-wire technology.

3) Roadster X

The X variant of the Roadster is the most affordable in the segment, with the starting ex-showroom price of Rs 74,999 for the 2.5kWh battery pack.

The bike can make an cceleration from 0-40 km/h in 2.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 124 km/h. 

The claimed range of this e-bike is 200 km on a single charge. Ola will start delivery of the X model in January 2025. This model comes with 18-inch alloy wheels. 

The Roadster X offers a wide range of control features, such as cruise control, riding modes, DIY mode, and turn-by-turn navigation, and all relevant information is displayed on its 4.3-inch touchscreen.

In terms of riding modes, it comes with Sports, Normal, and Eco modes. The X model produces 11 kW of motor power.
