After becoming the most dominant player in the E-scooter segment, OLA is now buckling up to bring its first electric motorcycle. The EV two-wheeler market is growing rapidly in the country and this indigenous company wants to be a first mover here too and grab as much market share as possible.
OLA Electric Motorcycle: All We Know So Far
The motorcycle has been teased in an image shared by the company’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, revealing several significant details about its upcoming product. The image shows the front lower portion of the motorcycle and reveals a massive battery, front sprocket and drive chain.
The tubular frame of the motorcycle is also visible in the image. If observed closely, the image also reveals its battery cooling and BMS (Battery Management System) components.
The brand showcased four concept motorcycles last Independence Day of India (2023). However, those models looked more like something out of a Sci-Fi movie (or concept for that matter) and less like a real-life product. But looking at this teaser, all the leaks, and rumours, OLA Electric now seems to have significant development.
The brand recently filed three design patents for its electric motorcycles, putting weight on the assumption of them launching the product soon.
Upon its arrival, the OLA Electic bike will face heat from the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 and Matter Aera, among others. Besides that, the indigenous automaker has already gained a lot of experience from its dominance in the Indian E-scooter segment, subsequently, the company will get an upper hand over the competitors when the product comes on the ground.
OLA Electric has a history of making substantial decisions on Indian Independence Day. And, this gives us hope that something related to the E-bike might come out on August 15, 2024. The project is still under development, hence, there is no concrete information about the product’s pricing, battery capacity, range, etc.
