Green. It's a crucial colour. It represents life, hope, serenity, health and birth. It is also the colour to mark some of the most brutal performing motorcycles on Earth wearing the Kawasaki badge.
Japan's most popular motorcycle manufacturer has been pushing the technical boundaries of motorcycle engineering for years and unlike the rest of the Japanese brands, we expect Kawasaki to keep quenching the thirst of motorcycle enthusiasts. The Ninja superbikes keep destroying track records but on the Indian scene, there's a different machine that is keeping Kawasaki's cash registers flowing.
No, it's not the third-world certified W175. We are talking about the Z900 -- a dream of every Indian soul who wants to go fast and experience freedom.
Introduced way back in 2017 as a CBU unit, the Z900 redefined what a super street-naked motorcycle should offer. Brutal performance with looks to die for. It handles nicely and is easily one of the most versatile big-capacity motorcycles you can buy today. Unlike the Ducati Monster and the Triumph Street Triple R, the Z900 is fairly easy on the wallet too.
But competition has been heating up with Triumph's renewed interest in India and hence, Kawasaki has refreshed the Z900 for the time being. The 2025 Kawasaki Z900 seems to be all about refinement and iterative improvement rather than mind-boggling upgrades.
Here's everything you need to know about the updated Kawasaki Z900 for 2025.

2025 Kawasaki Z900: Monster unleashed?
Instead of beating around the bush, let's answer some of the crucial questions that you might be having as a Kawasaki fan.
Is the new 2025 Z900 more powerful?
Yes. The liquid-cooled, 4-stroke inline-four 948cc engine has been upgraded. While the power output figure remains unchanged at 123 hp which peaks at 9,500 RPM, the torque has been bumped to 73.1 lb-ft peaking at 7,700 RPM. However, you get more of that torque at a much lower 1500 RPM compared to 2000 RPM of the outgoing model. Kawasaki has achieved this using advanced throttle valves and camshaft profiles.
The new model also features an updated ECU. As standard, the 2025 Z900 comes equipped with cruise control, traction control and riding modes for an engaging riding experience. The company has also focused on electronic components for a hassle-free track experience; the new model includes turn-by-turn navigation and can connect to Kawasaki’s Rideology mobile app. The dual-direction Quickshifter is also a standard affair on the new motorcycle.
Another major update is the addition of four-piston callipers and Dunlop Sportmax tyres for improved braking and better road grip.

Are there any changes to the suspension?
Yes! The bike comes with an improved 41mm inverted telescopic fork with rebound damping, spring preload adjustability and 4.7 inches of wheel travel. At the rear, it is equipped with a horizontal back-link and a gas-charged rear shock that offers rebound damping and spring preload adjustability, providing a travel base of 5.5 inches.

Has the design been revised?
Of course! Although the Z900 has always looked as aggressive as a Ninja (pun intended), the newer model gets tweaks to make it look for aggressive. Kawasaki says it has drawn inspiration from Sugomi styling.
The new Z900 boasts an aggressive fuel tank cover and undercowls. Its sharp design gives it a greater road presence. The new LED head and tail lights, equipped with light-guiding technology, make night rides a lot better. Kawasaki has also addressed back pain relief by upgrading the seat contouring with thicker urethane. Riders now get the option to choose between two seat heights.
2025 Kawasaki Z900 India launch: How long do we wait?
The outgoing Kawasaki Z900 is already a hot seller in the premium motorcycle category and given that Kawasaki fans love to get their hands on the latest machines, the Japanese brand may not make them wait for long.
Upon regulatory approvals, we expect Kawasaki to bring the updated Z900 to the Indian shores in mid-2025. The Z900 presently costs INR 9.38 lakh (ex-showroom) for the standard variant and we expect a price bump with the 2025 version, owing to the added list of new standard equipment.
