Ask any motorcycle expert about helmets and they all recommend spending as much as you can on procuring the best helmets. As motorcyclists, we all want that – having the best gear on us while riding our dream motorcycles, not only for safety but also to magnify your on-road personality! Helmets, hence, end up being an important part of your motorcycle ensemble. But, will it be wise to spend an exorbitant amount on a helmet?

If you consider the real-world economics, then the answer is negative. As much as safety is of paramount importance, keeping an eye on your riding gear budget is equally necessary – you still need to consider the running and maintenance economics of the motorcycle.

Additionally, your safety on the road is largely dependent on whether you drive responsibly. Your riding gear doesn’t give you the license to drive rashly on the streets and put others at risk! If you get into trouble, the riding gear will only offer protection to a certain degree – there’s still a possibility of a lifelong injury. Or death! As they say, prevention is better than cure.

Enough with the lecture! Let’s solve the query you are here for – which is the best full-face helmet you can buy if the budget is restricted to approximately INR 3,000? Since we had nothing better to write about over the weekdays, we went on the internet and found some worthy options to consider.

Don’t lose heart if we miss out on your favourite.

Axor Rage Solid Helmet

Best Full Face Helmets For INR 3000

Price: INR 3,410

Pardon us for suggesting a helmet that costs a tad over INR 3,000 but we have our reasons to do so. The Axor Rage is one of the most affordable helmets from the brand and adheres to the brand’s intention of prioritising safety over everything else. The Rage is fairly lightweight at 1,400 grams while offering a sturdy shell with certifications of DOT FMVSS 218 and ECE R.22.05, thus assuring protection of the utmost levels in this segment. For those who fancy spoilers, this one comes with a  detachable plastic unit too. The air vents are a nice touch but the lack of a D-strap is a disappointment.

On the whole, the Axor Rage is a good investment for beginner riders with a budget of less than INR 3,500.

Studds Drifter D5 Fiker

Best Full Face Helmets For INR 3000

Price: INR 2,258

The next one on the list is a lot more affordable and we bet you will be enticed by its feature list. The Studds Drifter D5 Fiker offers perks like a dual visor system (the main transparent visor and the sunshade visor), hypoallergenic liner, detachable spoiler and a choice of bright colours. This list is good enough to get the sales ongoing on paper.

However, the Studds Drifter D5 Fiker misses out on some key aspects like a D-Ring strap belt and the lack of any ECE certification. Hence, this helmet isn’t going to score high on the safety front. We’d only recommend this if you have a 150cc class motorcycle and most of your riding is going to be within city limits.

TVS Racing Phantom Series

Best Full Face Helmets For INR 3000

Price: INR 2,899

The TVS Racing Phantom offers a great balance of features, performance and price. The design and ergonomics are the highlights here, features UV-resistant paint on an ABS shell. The visor is made of anti-scratch polycarbonate material and riders also get the comfort of a second visor shielding eyes from bright sun conditions. A quick-release system for the visor also allows for quick and easy visor service and replacement. The design also includes ventilation to keep the insides airy and cool during the hot summer months.

Sadly, the drawback here is the lack of ECE certification – TVS offers questionable DOT certification and the ‘make-what-you-may-of-it’ ISI ratings. Also, you don’t get a D-ring buckle for the helmet strap.

Steelbird SBH-25 Predator

Best Full Face Helmets For INR 3000

Price: INR 2,541

The Steelbird SBH-25 Predator is another good option for beginner riders on a budget who value style and comfort over other factors. The SBH-25 Predator features multiple inlet and outlet vents to keep it cool inside but there’s no shielding from rainwater seepage. The smoked visor promises to keep it comfortable for the eyes during bright sunshine and there’s even the option to attach PINLOCK anti-fog inserts onto the visor. The secondary inner sun visor is a bonus touch.

The only drawback to this Steelbird helmet is the lack of ECE and even DOT certification – you only get a regular ISI certification.

Steelbird SBH-40 Cyber

Best Full Face Helmets For INR 3000

Price: INR 2,459

Steelbird’s second option in this list is aimed at those who like to go off the beaten path. The SBH-40 Cyber is designed to be more comfortable for off-road riders with ample vents to keep it breezy inside the dome. Thanks to the double visor implementation, riding against the sun won’t be much of a hassle (plus you can lift off the clear outer visor for better ventilation at lower speeds while having a secondary visor down). The only drawbacks here are the lack of international safety certifications and the absence of a safer double D-ring buckle for the straps.

Royal Enfield Old Madras

Best Full Face Helmets For INR 3000

Price: INR 2,950

If you seek a classic treatment for your full face helmet, look no further than the Royal Enfield Old Madras full face helmet. Available in the same iconic Desert Storm colourway as the Classic 350’s shade, this helmet goes for a retro-inspired minimalist look with sleek vents to keep it airy when the visor is down. Although you miss out on a double visor mechanism, there’s an adjustable vent on the chin section to allow for superior ventilation. As with all entry-level helmets, you miss out on a double D-ring buckle for the strap and no international safety certifications. For basic city riding though, this Royal Enfield helmet should be enough for the job.
