Aprilia is on a roll! After the smash hit that was the RS457 sportsbike, Aprilia is gearing up to bring its street-naked cousin to our shores. Part of the highly acclaimed Tuono series, this street-friendly motorcycle is expected to ruffle some Austrian feathers (and some Indian ones too)!
A great deal has already been said about the Aprilia Tuono 457 ever since the motorcycle debuted at the EICMA 2024 event in Milan, especially on Hardwire. We know it will be fast and it’s going to woo a lot of riding enthusiasts with its bold Italian looks. However, what nobody expects Aprilia to do is to impress with a cut-throat price!
Although Aprilia will take its own sweet time to reveal the price, industry insiders have hinted at what could be a possible sticker price on this motorcycle! PSST, it’s quite shocking!
It is so shocking that Aprilia might cause the rest of the Indian high-performance motorcycle market to go back to their meeting rooms and adjust the pricing strategy! Kawasaki, Royal Enfield and Yamaha – you better be ready to race!
Aprilia Tuono 457 India price leaked!
The Tuono 457 is rumoured to arrive with a starting price of INR 3.9 lakh ex-showroom. That puts it right in the mix with motorcycles like Royal Enfield’s 650 cc twin-cylinder Continental GT 650, Shotgun 650 and Interceptor 650 as well as Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Yamaha MT-03.
In Aprilia’s lineup, a price of INR 3.9 lakh will make it a more affordable alternative to the fully-faired and a lot more serious RS457. Making 47.5 PS of peak power and 43.5 Nm of peak torque, the Tuono 457 promises to be a seriously fast motorcycle geared for performance enthusiasts.
That said, the Tuono 457’s arch-rival – the KTM 390 Duke – is still much better value, especially after its last price cut. At INR 2.9 lakh ex-showroom, you are getting a supremely honed chassis with an eager engine, allowing for an agile street motorcycle. What’s more impressive about the 390 Duke is its engine configuration – KTM is relying on a single-cylinder engine, unlike Aprilia’s twin-cylinder engine.
Does that mean the Tuono 457 isn’t good?
An exotic Italian twin-cylinder motorcycle is a dream purchase for enthusiasts and regardless of the performance profile, the Tuono 457 could be on the list of many. If the RS457’s fan following and enthusiasm is anything to go by, the Tuono could be an even bigger hit considering its focus on accessibility. The raised handlebar coupled with a relatively upright seating position and that sweet characterful 457 cc liquid-cooled engine should make it the dream motorcycle for riders.
