Has the Shotgun 650 already turned into an icon? In Royal Enfield’s books, it certainly has. Ahead of the rumoured launch of the Classic 650 in India, the maker of the Bullet 350 is bringing a limited-run variant of the Shotgun 650 bobber. It has been created in collaboration with ICON Motorsports – it might not ring any bells but the motorcycle in the flesh should entice fans of retro motorcycles.

Meet the Royal Enfield Shotgin 650 ICON. Limited to just 100 units, this is presented as Royal Enfield’s way to celebrate the custom culture across the world and encourage more builders to go crazy with its flagship 650 cc motorcycle.

But why did RE make the Shotgun 650 ICON?

It’s been over a year since Royal Enfield introduced the Shotgun 650 to encourage custom motorcycle builders across the world. With a massive twin-cylinder 650 cc engine and a beautiful design, the Shotgun has found ample takers even in a country where customisation and modification are considered illegal. Outside India though, buyers have openly embraced the Shotgun 650 as a solid platform for mods and ICON Motorsports went to extreme levels to create a one-off custom based on this bike.

Revealed to the world at Milan’s EICMA in late 2024, the ICON One Thousand brings a flavour of the 1980s’ retro sci-fi design theme, which paired with a bright livery and the meaty 650 cc Royal Enfield engine made it a desirable motorcycle. Royal Enfield didn’t want this to be a one-off affair though. Hence, on the sidelines of this custom beauty, the brand revealed a limited edition variant of the standard Shotgun 650 wearing the same blue-white-red livery, called the Shotgun 650 ICON.

The ICON One Thousand livery makes the silhouette of the Shotgun 650 stand out from the rest of the retro motorcycle community. The gold-painted alloy wheels further the charm of the motorcycle and bar-end mirrors along with the red single seat give it an iconic road presence.

The motorcycle, in our opinion, looks even better than the Goan Classic 350 and its obnoxiously bright paint schemes!

Royal Enfield wanted to mark this product as a special occasion and that’s why they are making just 100 units of the Shotgun 650 ICON. Boo hoo! What’s even more disappointing is that India will be allocated only 25 units! Interested buyers will get a first-come-first-serve treatment to pre-book this one-off Royal Enfield.

To pamper its fortunate customers further, Royal Enfield will be gifting an ICON Motorsports-inspired custom gear – Icon Slabtown Intercept RE jacket. It looks spicy indeed.

The price for all this ICONic motorcycling drama? INR 4.25 lakh ex-showroom. That’s pricey by all means!

Since the mechanical parts remain largely unchanged, this ICON custom pack could be replicated on any standard Shotgun 650 by a talented custom builder, that too at a fraction of the ICON’s price. Isn’t that a Hardwire top financial tip? 😉
