Ducati has unveiled a fresh version of the Ducati DesertX Discovery for the global market. This is the third version of the adventure-ready iteration from the DesertX series, designed for both on- and off-road.
The dual-purpose motorcycle is available in the iconic Ducati Red and Black dual-tone colour scheme, featuring an upgraded windscreen that reduces wind pressure and provides turn-by-turn navigation with a 5-year license.
The heated grip comes as a part of the standard accessories on this bike. Besides that, Ducati has also offered a centred stand to make luggage loading and tyre repair easy.
To add a layer of protection, the DesertX Discovery equips reinforced protective bars and covers, such as a bull bar that also safeguards the fuel tank, radiator grill, and engine protection plates that also cover the water pump. The bike also features reinforced- handles and sump- guards.
Ducati DesertX Discovery: Specifications
The Ducati DesertX Discovery uses the same 937-cc liquid-cooled Testastretta engine, which also powers the standard DesertX. This engine produces 110bhp at 9,250rpm and 92Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. To channel the power, this Ducati bike uses a 6-speed gearbox with a Ducati Quick Shifter, resulting in smooth gear shifts. A tubular steel frame accommodates this engine.
Other Offerings
The Ducati DesertX Discovery has adopted the same suspension setup as the standard Desert X. This suspension model features a fully adjustable KYB fork with 230mm of travel at the front. The rear end incorporates a 220mm mono-shock suspension.
The front wheel comes with Brembo M50 monobloc callipers with 320mm discs and a two-piston calliper with a 265mm disc at the rear. It is an adventure bike, so Ducati has provided Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres for better grip.
